well don nick and Sacred eagle may be well served stepping him up in distance Al, a fair bit of latent mid distance influence in pedigree
change is simply a destination on a journey reached by taking the first step (i said that) lol

Beaten 0.2l into 2nd place.  Over-raced for 500m early which probably cost him.

Just battles rather than sprints so believe leading over 1800-2000m might be his sweet spot.

Sacred Eagle goes around in Race 8 at the Bool today.  Didn't concentrate last start and if his mind is elsewhere today he'll earn the snip he should've had some time ago.

However if he does things right he should be right in it.

thanks Take2. I cannot take any credit as she is Mum's horse. The apprentice rode the winner of the last so ended up with 3. First ride on the track so a terrific effort.

thanks Guys, great ride. He is over for the jockey challenge from W.A. so unfortunately won't be able to use him again. Looks to have promise.

did it easy, wrapped for Mum. Bought the mare with foal based on the foal so a great decision.

It's only in the last year or so I've realised how fragile these beauties are.

Often it seems like you'd be better off investing in a vet practice, equine pharma company or equine radiology practice!

Thanks for everyone's thoughts.

FF, other than this bloke the last horse of ours to do a tendon had won four stakes races before five or six years ago going wrong in the SA Derby*.  It always hurts though after a while you get quite accustomed to rolling with the punches and simply carrying on.

* effing jockey error but not's let go there.

SC, the old saying that, "only the good ones hurt themselves" rings true.

I hope you get a better diagnosis/prognosis than it sounds.

Either way, I've got a feeling that his well-being will come first.

Same leg Gay and await a detailed prognosis in about a week.

The stable is hoping he can recover after a long structured rehabilitation however to be honest I actually hope the vets say he's finished as the chances of a full recovery must be remote and it's unfair to put the
fellow through it all again.
