French Open tonight. First time we get a Sinner V Alcaraz final. Get the feeling its first of many.

Alcaraz has won the past 4 meetings between the two, being 2/2 on Clay in that time.

Woke up in the middle of the night and caught the final set. Alcaraz looked fully in control & was a break up, only to tense up in a late service game. It went to a tiebreak and Alcaraz lifted and was way too classy.

Sinner was 2 sets up and apparently had match point in the 4th. He'd be kicking himself.

Alcaraz taking over from his HERO, Nadal.

A number of men who were probably expected to have straight sets victories have been forced to 4 or 5 sets,  couple even lost. Most notably Alcaraz had to go the distance.

Alex Di Manaur and Jannik Sinner both straight set victories.

Medvedev and Zverev already gone. Two top 5 players at their best.

What do others think of the decision to remove all lines folk & just run with hawk eye ?

Apparently they have been alternative roles including bathroom attendants during matches.

Wimbledon runner up to the greatest theres ever been. I'd love my wasted talent to have achieved that.

$12M in prizemoney, probably just as much if not more in endorsements. 7 titles wins.

A brilliant career.

We are not comparing his career to your tennis achievements. Of course the average person would like to have acheived what he has but he could have done much more with his talent. An okay career in the tennis world, very far from brilliant.

Kyrgios is known for not having a coach. I wonder if his fitness training and rehab has been similarly understaffed? Got to be some reason he's always injured.

Nick Kyrgios's rehabilitation is primarily overseen by his long-time physiotherapist, Will Maher. Maher has been an integral part of Kyrgios's team since 2015, accompanying him on the ATP tour and managing his physical health throughout his career.

Look Guru....you are probably correct.....i just could never stand the bloke.

The way he treated court officials for starters was disgraceful in my opinion. The game should have pulled him into line a lot better early days....just continued on the Aussie male brattish tennis behavior. Cash, Hewitt, Tomic, Kyrios.....what a foursome !

So obviously agree with this as well. In 10 years time he will be better remembered for his behavior.....more the lack of it....than his tennis outcomes.

I hope not Whale. My social mixed doubles career didnt get past B grade. I did get to play against a kid that has gone on to be a decent competitor for Cruz Hewitt. I was actually very evenly matched with that kid...when he was 10 years old Tongue

I find most of them look pretty good on the TV while playing, then when you see a close up or photo it turns to crap. I did find myself years deep in someones Insta at Aus open time. Forget who it was. May have been an English bird.

De Minaur v Djokovic tonight. Djoko my all time fave and the GOAT. But the Demon at $5.50 looks very good value. I'm expecting it to be a close one. Demon beat him once last year and Djokovic isn't the same player anymore.

A couple dollars on Dimitrov wouldn't go astray either. As good as Sinner is, $17 is crazy odds this deep in the tournament.

Speaking of good sorts, I am watching the latest edition of the Netflix TDF series. Cyclists must have the least impressive bodies of any elite male athlete, with the possible exception, according to taste, of sumo wrestlers.

Road cyclists would have the best endurance of any of the major world sports.

Major Tours 21 days....with only a few 1 day breaks.....covering over 4000 km.....with a good chunk of it going up vertical mountain climbs....with an average speed well over 40 km /hour.

And the crash almost daily are unbelievable. Always at least one or two die every year
