    Posted: 25 Jan 2025 at 4:47pm
We have a 5% share in a 2yo filly by Blue Diamond winner Tagaloa from a Japanese mare who's already thrown a Sandown (UK) stakes winner in Lady Hamana.  The filly is about 5 weeks off her race debut.

Trainer Luke Oliver advised me that two small shares are still available in the filly and thought I'd see if there was any interest in a number of TBV members forming a syndicate to race 2.5% of the youngster.

The cost of a 2.5% share is $2,362.50. So, for instance, the up-front cost would be about $400 per head were there six in the syndicate.  And on-going costs per syndicate member would be about $25 per month.

Further details about the filly are attached, and please visit the trainer's site for photos and a video.

I'd invite anyone potentially interested in the proposal to PM me, hopefully fairly soon as we'd need to organize any syndicate prior to her race debut

Luke Oliver

I was so excited to secure this Tagaloa filly at the Melbourne Premier Sale. She's a really impressive individual, she's got great strength through the shoulder and hindquarters and powerful gaskins. She's built for speed and looks like she's going to be an early runner.

I don't think I've ever brought a filly with a pedigree as strong as this girl. Her dam is English bred by Champion stallion Shamardal who's first two foals are by Frankel and I Am Invincible. Yulong have had great success with their new stallions Grunt and Alabama Express by breeding them to quality mares just like this one. Lake Hamana's first foal by Vinnie was breed in Australia sent to the UK to win a stakes race and then bred to Frankel and sent back home. The family is being bred up and there is too much black type to count on her page and only last week English Rose a chestnut filly out of our dam's sister easily won a Group 2 race.

This filly is eligible for all of the VOBIS bonus' including the Sires bonus scheme and also the Inglis race series. She's going to be plenty of fun at an affordable price.

Tagaloa Filly

Tagaloa Filly
24 Jan 2025
Hi Allan,

Your Tagaloa filly has continued to progress beautifully through her training program this week.
She handled a 600m gallop comfortably earlier in the week and this morning she continued her barrier training with a private jumpout alongside a stablemate.
Next week she'll continue to keep stepping up her work and complete some further barrier training as she works towards a jumpout in the coming weeks.
Everything she's done to this point indicates she's a natural racehorse and her attitude makes her a easy horse to work with.

It's all about involvement and enjoyment at little cost Whale.  Any profit is a welcome bonus.

Don't really enjoy having to demonstrate our bona fides and racing outcomes, however:

a. for 15 years we bred our own full time. 16 living foals, 13 raced, 9 won, 6 city winners, 3 stakes horses, almost $2m in prizemoney between them on the back of an average stud fee of about $6k.

b. we currently have small shares in 13 which together cost us the equivalent of about 60% of full ownership of a single galloper.  About half of them are unraced 2 and 3yo's.  The rest are doing quite well having won 14 races and who've so far collected just short of $1m in prizemoney.

Wasn't asking for bone fides and I realise it is a good interest. Was simply curious if you have enjoyed modest success at any time. Not trying to ascertain the investment potential Wink

This filly is bred to stay.

I would love to see a photo to see how built for speed she is.

That’s the issue 1x1. All the upfront continue to debut. I’ve got a 4yo with only 2 starts. Cost a bundle so far😆 had more success with tried horses via on line sales.

In saything that, it does look like a Nice pedigree page and a small outlay so no down side apart from “time”

Three are already confirmed starters at this early stage, one of whom has been closely involved in racing and breeding for over half a century in Victoria whilst the other is enjoying success as a part-owner up in Queensland.

So we just need another three to put their hands up for this to be a goer.  Thumbs Up

Other benefits of coming in at this point is that the filly now has 12 months education underneath her, has displayed clear ability, and is only about 5 weeks off a race start providing she doesn't go shin sore.

Just to remind you: the cost of a 2.5% share is $2,362.50. So, for instance, the up-front cost would be about $400 per head if there were there six in our proposed syndicate.  And on-going costs per syndicate member would be a humungous $25 per month.

Further interest is eagerly awaited, and if anyone has any queries feel free to PM me! You got to be in it to win it.  Tongue

The trainer of this filly is claiming she is an early comer. Everything suggests otherwise.

Be interesting to see how this fillies career pans out.

Why as my post deleted ?

Because it was totally irrelevant to this topic thread, along with about 3 others, all of which have mean moved to Conformation - Photo Assessments.

Suspect the filly djebel refers to is not the filly actually involved here*. Though have been wrong before.

Imo ours (we already own a small share) should go like last week's pay as a 2 and early 3yo and with appropriate care and attention get a solid 1600m later on.

Though if trained by Aiden could most likely compete over 2000m or more.

* ps thanks for providing the ink to her sales page djebel.

I was talking about this filly.

I am not a fan of the trainer.

I get the impression this filly will be much like Brooklyn Hustle never reached her potential cause she was treated ;like all speed when she should have been a miler plus.

I do hope I am wrong.

Well I've only done it 2 or 3 times I can recall on TBV, but I'm all for it being done more if it makes for better discussion, which is what a forum is for. That's how most forums work. There are rules, there are posters and there are moderators. Duh. It's just like following road rules or social etiquette.
