Hello,
when I check the several 2 and 3 year olds in my Country Racing Stables/Breeding News.
I spot some interesting Peds, both from the damline of Torquator Tasso (now at Stud) and his HB Tunnes.

At first "Talasar" (Masar - Tusked Wings by Adlerflug, colt), he is bred as follows:
4x5x5 Allegretta/Alya FS
4x4 Sadlers Wells
5x5 Sharpen Up
Sire "Masar":
3x4 Urban Sea
3x4 Ahonoora
dam "Tusked Wings":
3x3 Allegretta/Alya,
damsire "Adlerflug":
4x4 Mill Reef
3x4 ND

A yet unnamed filly (yearling, NH) from 2022.
Frankel - Tellez by Guiliani:
3x3 Tertullian/Urban Sae FB/FS
4x5x5 Allegretta
damsire of "Frankel":
3x3 Natalma
dam "Tellez":
3x3 Turbaine
5x5x5 Sharpen Up
5x4 Surumu
5x6 Riverman
5x5 ND
damsire "Toylsome"
his dam Treasure Trove (!)
1x3 Nijinsky/The Minstrel 3/4 relatives

Let's see, how they run in the future.

A Happy Easter to everyone and
kind regards from Germany

Hello,
here is one more "inbred" ped of the same broodmare "Tusked Wings"(Family of Torquator Tasso,
HB Tünnes), btw "Tiara Hilleshage" (FS) just had her debut as 2 year old, but she ran a 5thplace.

Her daughter Tasmania (Australia - Tusked Wings by Adlerflug) just ran a 3rd place at the"Prix de Diane" in France.

She is bred 3x4 Sadlers Wells, 4x4x4 Allegretta/Alya are FS's.

regards, Ticino

The Gp3 Gordon Stakes for 3yos at Goodwood has been won by the King's colt, Desert Hero (3c Sea The Stars x Desert Breeze, by Dubawi x Galatee, by Galileo). So , he has a 2x4 cross to Urban Sea. Bred by the Royal Stud so I guess that is not surprising.

I dont believe Charles would be nuts enough to disperse the Royal Stud at Sandringham, given the  history of the place back thru his ancestors, and its an institution for visitors on their Ascot jaunt.
The walls just ooze history.

Hello,
here is the "Ped" of  a foal from 2024 bred in my Home country.

Unnamed (Born to Sea - Aylia by Tertullian):
2x2  Tertullian/Urban Sea 3/4 relatives (M/F)
3x4x4 Allegretta/Alya FS
4x4 Sharpen Up

It's very rare to see close inbreeding with female descents.
Obviously German breeders not shying away from this kind of breeding.

Best regards from Germany
Ticino

Btw.: My "Fourlegged Namesake" didn't show any inbreeding in his ped.

Helloo, Gay,
many thanks for the advise of above mentioned filly.
She is a close relativ of "Pakistan Star" (they both share 'Nina Celebre'), who raced in Hong Kong.

The breeding background is the "Nella da Gubbio" branch of the Catnip family (Spearmint), imported during the 1920's for German interest.
Since  a few years it had a great "comeback", via Nightrockette (by Rocket) with descents like Night Petticoat, Next Gina/Next Desert, Nightflower, Novellist etc.

Btw, Inbreeding - linebreeding to Urban Sea and her family will feature for the next few years.
(Quote by Djebel) some years ago! Yes, you were right with your prophecy!

regards, Ticino

Hello,
maybe it's a kind of "hoofnote".
During the early '60 a Sire was imported to AUS, from the abovementioned damline.
His name was Novalis (Owen Tudor - Hyperion o/o Nadia by Ticino).

You will spot his name from time to time in contemporary "Race Horses" in your home country.

best regards, Ticino

Star Shower, a 1976 colt by Star Of Heaven x Show, by Novalis was a brilliant 2yo who won all 5 of his starts including the Blue Diamond Stakes, Maribyrnong Plate & Merson Cooper Stakes.

This filly foal born 17/05/25 has

Green Desert (m), producing two sons - not good for a colt or a filly foal.
Kingmambo (m), producing a son and daughter - good for a colt foal.
Allegretta (f), producing a son and daughter - good for a filly foal.
Sadler's Wells (m) producing a daughter and son  - good for a colt foal.
Gone West (m), producing a son and daughter - good for a colt foal.
Zaizafon (f), producing a son and daughter - good for a filly foal.
Dancing Brave (m), producing a daughter (Hope) and a daughter (Wemyss Bight) -  good for a filly foal.
Bahamian (f), producing a daughter and a daughter -  perhaps extra stamina?
Shirley Heights (m), producing a daughter and a daughter -  good for a filly foal.

There is a daughter of Northern Dancer (m) to offset his many sons.
You might notice that the sire Mill Reef (m) produces two sons and two daughters - good for a colt foal.

Zamindar (m) and Western Appeal (f) are full sibling brother and sister -
good for a colt or filly foal.
Hope (f) and Wemyss Bight (f) are full sibling sisters.  good for a colt or filly foal.

Second Chance
Pedigree is too busy for me Diomed, though others may well disagree.

That was and is my worry.
The pedigree is like a cup of tea with a dozen teaspoons of sugar.
I threw the kitchen sink in there and then threw in a few more.

I appreciate that you gave a straight-up opinion, and I much prefer that to no comment, or a watering down. I have no idea if it will work, or will be a disaster.

The filly looks alright, no physical defects as far as we can see.
The one odd thing about her is she has two large white spots (about 10 cms) on her face, one on the forehead and one on the nose.
It looks like a seagull flew overhead and dumped on her.

Looking at djebel's Ancestor duplications: I can see that they are all in the 4th and 5th generations, and 21 in total.
Is 21 a record? Shocked

Maymay was pretty keenly tested as a 2yo.

Maymay was pretty keenly tested as a 2yo.

Yes, and she did not win in nine races.
She is only 15.0 hands and often ran against colts.
One of her good races was a 4th in the Woodcote Stakes (first run 1794) at Epsom in 2023.
The horse in 3rd was Haatem who went on to be 3rd in the English 2000 and 2nd in the Irish 2000.

I will get Maymay Speed Gene DNA tested by Plusvital/Equinome soon but put it off when she was pregnant.
Her sire was a 12f horse. She ran from 1000m to 1600m as a 2yo.
I would love to find out she is a T.T (stayer) but I suspect she is a C.T.
