Had a chance to buy a small share in Lot 119 Melbourne Premier, a colt by I Am Invincible from Da Capo which sold for just $70k, but decided against for reasons I won't elaborate on here.

Just hope he doesn't prove to be a super star.

But that's behind us, as we've just secured a very small share in the following filly, our one and only dabble this sales season. To be trained by Kieran Maher.  Nothing to look at but taken by the female family.

Hello,
In the case you are interested.

According a German racing Website mentioned a Toronado colt o/o Hardly Surprising (Yearling) was sold for 1 Mill Aus $ to Andrew Williams Bloodstock/Hong Kong Racing.

He is from the German Family of "Anna Paola" and it's the family of Helmet/Bullbars in AUS/NZ.

regards, Ticino

This filly has been in the paddock for 5 weeks and is off to the breakers.  Was weighed at Bellarine Thoroughbred Agistment Park prior to leaving and stopped the scales at 475kgs which is pretty saolid for a yearling.

It’s the way the industry is going: middle to low sires with middle to low mares.

The cost of getting these yearlings from the breeding barn to the sales is probably way more than they’ll bring at auction 🤯

Thinking of the Bucklee team today, reckon it might be a tough sale though. Hope all goes well.

The Doubtland colt at $1,500 was a steal. X-ray issues (stifle cyst that radiologist has said is a minor problem) but what a boy. I’m at my horse limit though 😀

Just in case anyone's interested, small shares are still available.  Set all-inclusive monthly cost for a 2.5% share in $185.  See below the video.

The filly has now been registered as Cosmic Awe.

She's just undergone a couple of months education and has now gone out for a nice spell.

They're the Japanese crew aren't they? Ripper name for a change, seeing so many dreadful & unimaginative ones lately e.g. in Tassie y/day Eaglefurther! Didn't even check the breeding, no need LOL
Looking forward to following her & BOL Thumbs Up

How Ironic
Inglis & MM always try to outskite each other with their sales results
At Flemington  none of the big 4 races went to sales horses
2 were homebreds for Darley whilst the Oaks & Melb Cup winner have pedigrees that were definitely off broadway
NOW HERE'S THE THING
Each of those horses had exceptionally well structured pedigrees ( especially to the sex of the foal )
I venture to say that none of this was by accident & in each occasion recessive genes stayed in the background

It reinforces my long held belief that INg & MM  in concert with the major studs  forcing breeders to make decisions based on service fees & commercial returns are ****ing this industry in the long term

Not from the topic sales, but have just bought a 2.5% share in a one purchased by Busuttin/Young at the recent NZ Ready to Run sale.
