I don't know if a thread exists on this but it deserves one. 


Its a horrifying story. 

Anyone condoning a softly softly touch with bail/sentencing for crims or being too careful about Indigenous in custody eg needs to sit through these stories. 

I can't remember the specifics of the stat now but its something like 1% of men are responsible for 50% of the DV. Fair dinkum just go hard on them and lock them up.

I am certain Whale was talking in general terms and not commenting directly on the story, which would horrify any right-minded person. I almost posted something similar (but in much greater detail) after initially only reading the heading and Whale’s reply. Thankfully my guardian Angel stopped me.

I'll respond to the actual topic. IMO the "awareness campaign" BS hammered into us a few years back would have done absolutely nothing to those 1% except make them angrier when the ads came on. As you say, just go hard and lock them up, rather than tainting all men.
