Early days yet, however he's currently the leading 2nd crop sire in GB/Ireland.

Our 2yo by him named Contours has just undergone the snip and will spell for about 6-8 weeks.

Australian bloodstock.

Did he get the snip just for the sake of it ?

Of course he did, what a silly question.

Opera Ballo (3c Ghaiyyath x Dubai Opera, by Invincible Spirit) just scored a 2½ length victory in the Gp3 Heron Stakes over a mile at Sandown.

He would be the second stakeswinner for Ghaiyyath after Mandanaba (x Mandesha, by Desert Style) won Gp3 Prix Vanteaux at Longchamp before going on to run a good 3rd in Gp1 Poule d'Essai des Pouliches.

Are they blinkers or a hood on Opera Bello ?

Why is he wearing whatever they are if he is so fierce ? and he is fierce.

It is a hood, covers the ears to ease the stress / noise reduction, usually helps highly strung horses.

In Australia, the red ones are pre race and come off at the barriers and the black ones, bridle over the top are on for the race.

Feel he will have a far better 2nd season here than 1st based on how his second crop are going overseas.

Couldn't agree more Scratchy.  Don't believe many really thought his first crop 2yo's would do much down under.  And has some in the successful barns which won't hurt.

Thanks VSP, hadn't looked at the Darley line-up this season.

He's going great guns in the NH so they're either giving him a rest or perhaps he's had an injury.  Can't find anything on-line about his absence.

Like Take2 we've a small share in a just turned 3yo by him but don't expect much out of him until next Autumn or Winter.

Put my eye over Yum and My Gladiola a couple of weeks ago when visiting one of mine that they are training they both looked primed up, the whole show presented very neat and tidy all staff polite but busy, Brent and John were very generous with their time.
My Lord El Rocko is a character, loves a pat
