Disappointing news, would like to have seen this horse at least be given his chance to race on as a 4yo.

Group 1 J.J. Atkins Stakes winner King Colorado will stand his first season as a stallion at Widden Stud's Victorian base this spring.

The farm confirmed the news on Thursday, when it announced its line-up of stallions for its covering sheds at Riddells Creek in Victoria and the Widden Valley in New South Wales.

Prepared by Ciaron Maher, King Colorado retires with two wins from his 12 starts. He also ran fourth in the Caulfield Guineas and tackled last year's Cox Plate.

The son of Kingman will stand for an introductory fee of $16,500

Think he was short of top class, so off to stud before too much damage done.

Agree with Rhino, he came from nowhere to win the G1 and his form has gone back there.
The worlds oldest fossil was discovered in Australia, they named it Rupert Murdoch.
