What is it about women's sport? Only recently Netball Australia turned sponsorship for political reasons from Gina Rinehart, now the Matildas want to receive the same sponsorship as the Socceroos.
Apparently the Matildas do not understand sponsorship is directly proportional to how many people  watch or attend any sport. Now matter how much the FIFA Women's World Cup is pumped in Australia the interest overseas would be nowhere what it would be for the Men's FIFA World Cup.

The Matildas have a bigger following than our men's soccer team.

The USA female team is also more popular than the men's.

And the English women's team is more successful than their male counterparts.

What a nonsensical statement.

They get to play other women, ever heard the term cripple fight?

They would generate 10% of the revenue of the men.

Take the comparison between AFLW & AFL.
If Collingwood played Carlton in both AFL & AFLW at the MCG on alternate days there would be 80,000 for the AFL and 8,000 at the AFLW the next day. There is no known way AFLW players will be paid 8/80ths of what AFL players are paid. A top AFL player might get $800,000 per season , no way will a top AFLW player get $80,000 a season.

what a load of rubbish seriously, some of the cracking goals you see in the premier league you would never see in the women's games, NEVER !!! for instance when was the last time you saw a women even just head the ball into the goal ? or when did you last see a women take a free kick from outside the box and send it into the top corner of the net like a tracer bullet ? or when did you last see a female score from an overhead kick outside the goal kick area ?

What’s a ticket cost each day?
What’s the corporate take on each day?
What’s the earn from sponsors in each game?

There’s no way in the world women generate 10% of the income the men generate…

Sam Kerr is noted for scoring headers , but comparing the sexes in overall goal scoring ability is useless .

Sexual dimorphism old boy.  You can't expect Sam Kerr to be physically like for like with her male conterpart, a female player is never going to have the strength of Haaland or the pace of Mbappe, I'm sure this study was more focused on passing and finishing ability where the two genders are comparable, not some bloke lacing one from 30 and a female player doing the same.

keep it going boys. Trash talk women's sport, then get all patriotic when it's the women who bring home all the swimming gold medals.

On television we might get a bit of an idea how free-to-air television networks view women's sport
Tonight : Channel Seven ; FIFA World Women's Cup..Australia playing Thumbs Up
Channel Nine : The Ashes / NRL : SBS : Tour de France
Tomorrow
Channel Seven : Womens FIFA World Cup. Punted to the afternoon to make way for AFL in the night
Channel Nine: The Ashes / NRL: SBS: Tour de France

On both nights on Sky (pay tv): The British Golf Open

By punting the FIFA world cup to the afternoon Channel Seven obviously believe AFL will attract more viewers than any soccer match where Australia is not playing.

Let's keep potting the girls. That way we can ensure no-one watches them. Angry

The women's cricket matches have been every bit as good as the mens, you know, Bob. Some of their batting would put certain struggling male cricketers to shame...especially last night's efforts.

I cannot ever see contact / rough sports like NRL / boxing ect being big for women. Not so much because they are not suited to them (which most are not) - more because most woman have absolutely zero interest in them. I mean for every women who follows NRL there would be at LEAST 20 blokes. Many a time I've seen groups of young people in Pubs / parties - & the girls have zero interest. Unlikely to change much

Went & watched her play a few weeks back in the National Schools Comp down at Tweddle Park Merrylands near Parramatta. Playing really well & then gets coat hangered - bleeding nose / concussed - poor darling

Told her parents to get her back to Athletics pronto. Advise accepted believe

I dislocated a finger in a match against the boys.  Just pushed it back in place, then went on with  the game. I was the team half-back.

While skiing, I swerved to miss hitting a rock. Did my LCL. I iced it, strapped it up with my scarf, then kept skiing.

Had half a tooth knocked out rom a flying stock, but still skied.

Fell off a thirty foot tree and fractured my spine, but still got up and walked home. It still causes grief to this day.

Did fifteen hours of child-bearing labour before having my first kid.

Women are more resilient than men and take pain better.

Ask all those battered souls in domestic violence cases...

 Contact sport is a breeze.

You maybe correct

Here's the problem - MOST women don't want too be concussed / bashed playing sport.

Its hardly  feminine is it !

My wife and some of her friends go to the ballet, none have much interest in contact sport.  Lot of my male friends enjoy contact sport and you would have to twist both their arms to get them to the ballet. No doubt all ballerinas are exceptionally fit but they are not sportswomen.
