Last week's Australian Story was moving. I watched it twice. Thumbs Up

Will give tonight a miss after reading the blurb on it.

Since I'm having a cancerous kidney removed this Friday...while the supposedly good kidney continually aches...I'm not sure I want to watch a programme about a terminal cancer patient.

I am trying to stay optimistic. Watching that will not help.

 Give it a rest, Fiddles.

Wonderful episode tonight on Professor Richard Scolyer who has, effectively, made himself a Guinea pig to find a cure for a form of brain cancer. He specialises in melanoma  but has plied those treatments to the brain

How good is this show, fairdinkum it never fails to immerse me in the stories they put out.

This weeks was yet another beauty. I had no idea about the specifics cardiac arrest, the age it can hit and how people can be saved.

Seriously if you are ever bored and don't know watch to watch, open I-view and watch a few of their stories they are brilliant.

Anyone see this weeks story about the old geezers white water rafting in Tassie, the Lithuanians ?

This is the most intense thing I've watched in ages, I don't know what happens in part 2 so don't spoil it if you know.

It's funny how people get their foot into rock crevices but can't get them out. Like that kid that drowned recently. You would think that what goes in should come out. Confused

Why can't people who get their foot stuck in rock crevices out again, Perplexity?

Manners are of more importance than laws

It's really insane to think it goes in but can never come out the same way, he fell exactly the right way to lodge his leg and foot into a natural hole between two rocks that has never seen a human leg before, just think about that. Apparently they asked for ideas from anyone no matter how weird or silly.

My idea was they needed to stop the flow of water into that pool so they could drain the water and see the injury better, the moving water constantly entering that hole was what was making it so difficult, you block/slow down the entrance to that hole with anything, sand bags, spray foam, wooden boards, rocks, clothes, the raft pillows, any bloody thing... whatever. sand bags would have been the best way to slow down the water entering that particular pool imo.

Easier said than done, with that constant gushing water flow.
That poor kid at the beach.  Just terrible.

They only needed to slow it down, slowing it down with sandbags ( something they could have made there on the sandy bank ) would have been enough to slow the water so they could see better and drain that pool with buckets fast before it filled up again.

Oh, is that all?
Shame on them then…

You know the Dr that was going to amputate, literally broke his ankle, and another Dr had to step in.

Fvcking easy in the lounge room to be a Monday morning quarterback.

No he broke his wrist not ankle, so he couldn't operate, they had to call for a second doctor. Like I said they were asking for any suggestions no matter how silly, they tried everything and then some.
