Announced today as a wild card entry for the ASM.  Currently $11 on TAB fixed odds.

On form looks like a 2000-2400m horse.  Any chance over 1600m?

Looks a high pressure race at this stage so a mile fresh should be ok.

The way I see the race, I'm Thunderstruck and Alenquer should fight it out.

On his 2 local runs, this horse looks like a massive bust for the owners - wonder how much they paid for him??

15th of 15 - beaten 14.95 Len
11th of 11 - beaten 13.97 Len

Mike Maroney is an excellent trainer but he’s got a big job in his hands to get this horse interested in racing again.

Put him on the same plane back to England as the other Haggas inmates.

A story on Racing.com

After two Australian flops, highly rated import Alenquer will be gelded in a bid to help him find his best form over spring.

Trainer Mike Moroney said the operation will take place on Friday and then he will be spelled.

"We'll get him gelded, give him a spell and bring him back for the spring," Moroney said.

I’ve watched the Underwood replay a few times and I actually didn’t think this guys run was too bad.

Led most of the race & was collared at the 300m mark. I thought he’d completely capitulate in the straight but was only beaten 4.65L at the finish.

I’m not saying I want to back him next start but definately worth keeping an eye on to see if there is further improvement at his next start.

I’ve liked his 2 runs this time in.

Anyone else think he’s a chance at good odds in the MV Cup tonight?

Dropping in grade & up in trip, might be the right recipe here.

Reckon you'd need every bit of the odds currently on offer LH.  But best of luck if you have a sneaky little investment.

I can not see him winning LH but he can place!

He did neither Voyager, so my each way ticket is confetti.

Having said that, he did work to the line quite well once clear.  Probably not an MV type horse, so I’d still press on with the campaign to the Melb Cup & Zipping Classic.

I hope he does go ahead to the Cup, just because it might be the only opportunity for Ollie to get a final ride in the race.

Noticed this Irish G1 winner shows up as retired a Racing Aust database.

Not sure how much connections paid for him, but he was certainly a big flop - 12 starts here in Aust for 1 placing.
