Discussion time!  What do you fancy on paper, how about the videos etc?

My first comment is about the Yarraman Park entries, the videos in particular.  There's a "voice over" on most lots extolling the virtues of each horse, and I find that both distracting and worst of all bl00dy insulting.  I don't need that promo rubbish intruding while trying to form an opinion of the physical and attitudinal attributes of the horse(s) concerned.  At least it only last 20 seconds or so, but still.

Here's a couple that I might be interested in taking a small share in, as distinct from those that are bred to sell for plenty.

Lot 498.  Am a huge fan of Night of Thunder. Very stout female family however he'll hopefully put some miler speed into the colt.

Lot 595.  Great for a 10th foal, but may take time.  Just a pity it's not a filly.

I always find it interesting how we have different opinions on yearlings. We look for different attributes.

My Top 5 fillies (excluding the million dollar babies) are :

Lot 129 Too Darn Hot x Miss Foxwood

Lot 229 Zoustar x Personalised (might be price optimistic)

Lot 555 Jungle Cat x Wobbly Boots

Lot 728 Almanzor x City Fair

Lot 1079 Brutal x Dove Lake (last lot of the day..)

Am sure we'll be all over the place Taxidriver.  Yours appear likely medium priced, whereas I've just picked out 5 of each irrespective of what they may bring.

Colts:

Lot 289: I Am Invincible - Reign
Lot 373: Capitalist - Sheika
Lot 464: I Am Invincible - Taste of Heaven
Lot 873: I Am Invincible - Flippant
Lot 904: Written Tycoon - Golconda

Fillies:

Lot 144: I Am Invincible - Modern Wonder
Lot 366: Xtravagant - She's A Danica
Lot 399: Zoustar - Solar Charged
Lot 498: Night of Thunder - Trapani
Lot 834: Alabama Express - Erato

The Alabama Express filly 834 will be interesting. Her half sister was a beauty & second dam was pretty good too. I prefer the 701 AB filly on type, but her page is not as strong.

Any thoughts on the Brutal, Blue Point and Too Darn Hot lots?

Please bear in mind I'm wired to look for possible faults before strengths.

The Too Darn Hot is a nice type, maybe just a tad straight behind.  Nice female family though the dam has had four to race but no city winners as yet.  Too Darn Hot - who knows?

The Brutal is well grown and strong bodied, also from a nice female family filly.  You have to question why she's in Book 2, and without any knowledge on X-rays etc her arguably long, upright pasterns might be against her.  Is she too just a bit straight behind?

Mind you a physical inspection might well change the views expressed.  Wink

Agree Taxidriver, on Lot 834. A great filly pedigree, from a number of aspects.

I'm not great on type but I wonder if the way she throws one of her front legs is an issue. She is a late foal, so you would hope she would correct herself with time.

Good call Breeder.  In fact she throws her off hind as well as her fore.  Be interesting to see what the market thinks, however she should still go for a high price.

She's Juliet so I'm not about to pan her.  But she is bred for stud duties more than for racing.

Another filly I would look at, with potential broodmare prospects later on in mind, is lot 571 (from one of the great Aga khan families). Exceed and Excel is doing well as a broodmare sire. Nothing extra special with the cross with Street Boss (on paper) but equally there is nothing wrong with it. Street Boss is doing well.

Take2 will just love that one from the Aga Khan family lot Breeder!

As for the Autumn Suns, only two starters so far so thank goodness trainers aren't getting up them this early.

Furious, we have a small share in one with Mike Maroney and whilst impressed with her attitude he has no idea about her talent.  Am impressed by his reluctance to find out one way or another just yet.

I put a note up for take2  on the Aga Khan thread SC about a AK family mare on the Inglis Online auction. Unresevered but still no bid, so if you know how to contact take2 let him know. Could get her cheap.

PM works well Breeder as we get an email notification & an alert when we next visit TBV or refresh the screen Big smile

Of all the ones so far I like the Zoustar - Personalised 1/2 to Spiritualised.  She'll be too dear to follow but looks a lovely filly.  Unless I change my rules and just go for what I like!

I don't mind the pedigree of 253.  I love the St Therese family so a filly from this one would be nice in the paddock.

My pick for the first day is Lot 89. Will not be the highest priced lot but I liked the look of the Magna Grecia weanlings and so have looked at the yearlings.
This one has a great colt's pedigree on paper.

Like the look of Lot 127 the filly by Pierata from Miss Exfactor, so she'll be my main focus of attention today.  Along with Lot 144 which should sell for plenty and more even if I wasn't didn't overly rapt with him on type.
