He is an interesting one Astern you probably wouldn't have thought he would make a good sire but he seems to be throwing some exceptional horses.
Medaglia d'Oro threw a few including him but was overall disappointing and as said the dam line has struggled for sires just goes to show rules can be broken and many sires can get top class horses with the right mares.
Ant theories on why he has been able to succeed?

I’ve been wondering for ages, why didn’t Medaglia d’Oro succeed here? Would be great to hear what you breeders think.

no idea bp.  Galileo didn't succeed here either and I would of thought he was a shoo in.  I guess it's something to do with our racing style.  Different types of trainers etc.

From a numpty amateur perspective, I just thought Meg D would've have more impact as a sire here, being such a quality horse with superstar kids abroad. While Galileo has at least featured in our sirelines and broodmares (right?).
He did have some good horses here (I followed a few of them) but they never really shone. My guess is what furious said, different style of racing and (ahem) training.
