Okay folks, it is that time of year where we turn our attention to the NFL season, and give our predictions so here is how I see things happening.
NFC West: Overview - Once again looks a strong division. The 49ers should still have the strike to win the division and their defence is good enough to get back to the conference championship match. Russell Wilson should have enough weapons left to get the Seahawks back to the post season, and the Rams and Cardinals will be good but not able to get winning seasons. Standings : San Francisco 13-3 - Seattle 10-6 - Rams 8-8 - Arizona 3-13 San Fransisco and Seattle to reach the playoffs. North: Overview - Green Bay are edging closer to the pension aged squad, but they have enough to record wins against the Lions and Bears so again they should get a positive season. The Vikings have had a huge turnover in their squad and for me that means they will drop as they take time to gel. If Chicago and settle on a squad and their main roster guys they have the weapons to get a season over 500. The Lions showed improvement last season, but they are still a work in progress so they can improve, but not enough to make the playoffs. Standings : Green Bay 10-6 - Chicago 9-7 - Minnesota 8-8 - Detroit 5-11 Green Bay to grab the play off berth. East: Overview - I can not see much changing here. The Eagles and the Cowboys will be the two to fight out the division. On talent the Cowboys should win the division, but that should have happened last season and they fell in a hole at the backend of the regular season to miss the playoffs. As much as it hurts for me to admit, they can win enough to take the division. The Eagles are a gritty side, but they have not improved during the off season and so they will finish around where they were last season. The Giants are still finding their way after the Manning years and I can not see them improving, while the Redskins, oh sorry the Washington football team ( fiddlesticks will you get a name, it is not hard the Warriors or the Bulldogs or something, this management is hopeless), are useless at the moment and releasing one of their true talents just before the season begins does not help. Standings : Dallas 11-5 - Philadelphia 9-7 - New York Giants 4-12 - Washington 2-14 Dallas the only play off hoper here. South: Overview - New Orleans look to be hard to beat once again with Brees getting closer to the end. This might be the last throw at a championship run. Obviously gods nephew. coming to Tampa Bay increases their potency, but he needs the main players around him to do their job, they can improve but not sure about playoffs. Atlanta are always around the break even mark and this season will be no different while Carolina look to be making up the numbers against their divisional opponents. Standings: New Orleans 12-4 - Tampa Bay 9-7 - Atlanta 8-8 - Carolina 4-12 New Orleans and Tampa Bay to get through to the playoffs. Conference play offs: 1st: San Francisco 2nd: New Orleans Division winner: Dallas & Green Bay Wild Cards Tampa Bay & Seattle American Football Conference North: Overview - This is a very intriguing division. I am expecting Baker Mayfield to recover from the sophmore season, and he has to many weapons at his disposal for this team to not make the playoffs, if they can become a more solid defensive line. Pittsburgh are saying that Big Ben is as fit as he has been for at least six seasons coming into the season, if he is near his career best the Steelers defense is good. The Ravens had a huge season last season. Can their new quarterback genius back that up.? While the Bengals can improve but not much. Standings: Pittsburgh 12-4 - Cleveland 10-6 - Baltimore 8-8 - Cincinnati 4-12 No risk here Pittsburgh and Cleveland through to the playoffs. West: Overview - No risk about the division winner. KC should continue their good era. The Broncos look a more solid unit across the park. They can make the playoffs. Oakland are moving to sin city and they will take time to settle in while the Chargers are looking at a similar season to last year. Standings: Kansas City 14-2 - Denver 9-7 - Chargers 3-13 - Raiders 2-14 KC to get through and Denver to grab a wild card spot. East: Overview - Well what will happen here? With the Jets and Dolphins in the division New England should still win enough to make the play offs but they will drop. Buffalo were very solid last season and they can continue on their way. The Dolphins can improve, and the Jets are the Jets, I almost feel sorry for their fans as their is no light at the end of the tunnel. Standings: Buffalo 12-4 - New England 10-6 - Miami 5-11 - New York Jets 2-14 Buffalo to grab the play off spot with New England grabbing the wild card. South: Overview - Tough division where anyone can get the play off spot. Houston and Tennessee are the two to beat but Indianapolis and Jacksonville can surprise. Standings: Tennessee 11-5 - Houston 9-7 - Indianapolis 6-10 Jacksonville 3-13 The top two will fight out the division win with Tennessee for me to grab the spot. AFC Playoff spots 1st: Kansas City 2nd: Pittsburgh Division winners: Tennessee & Buffalo Wild Cards Denver & New England NFC Conference Championship Match: San Francisco vs Seattle AFC Conference Championship Match: Kansas City vs Pittsburgh Superbowl: San Francisco vs Kansas City Winner: Kansas City |

Okay I guess the Raiders will not win another match all season
![]() I have to revise the Saints from that match as well. Their defence was shocking and unless their players succumbed to the allures of Las Vegas, if that is the norm for their defence then they will be hard pressed winning 9 games. The Saints defence made Carr look like Montana and Brady all rolled into one!

Okay just a minute. Can someone explain to me how a professional NFL team can lead by 15 points with 3 minutes to go, not cover a onside kick when you have four players around the ball and then your defence can just do their job, to still win, but they allow a drive which sees the Cowboys score the win through a field goal. That is the last time I back Atlanta. ever, ever ever
Okay now we have that out of the way lets see about this week 3. Jacksonville @ $1.95 giving the 3 point start. San Francisco @ $1.90 giving the 3 point start ( even with basically the back up squad in) Philadelphia @ $1.95 giving 5.5 start Pittsburgh @ $1.89 giving the 4 point start (best bet of the week) Buffalo to win match points over 47.5 points @ $1.90 Tennessee to win but no bet Atlanta to win but absolutely positively no bet Raiders to win but no bet Cleveland @1.90 giving 7 points to Washington Indianapolis to win but I can not take $1.18 about a team who is so inconsistent Chargers @ $1.36 to win Tampa Bay @ $1.86 giving Denver 6 points start Detroit to win but no bet Dallas to win but no bet Green Bay @ $2.00 with 3 point start over New Orleans. That Saints defense is shocking! Baltimore to win but no bet Week 3 Multi Philadelphia @ $1.95 giving 5.5 start to Cincinatti Pittsburgh @ $1.89 giving 4 point start to Houston Cleveland @ $1.90 giving 7 point start to Washington Good luck to all fans and investors and their teams and investments!

Atlanta eh.
Why would that surprise you after what they did in the Super Bowl? They are the master of losing the unlosable game. |

One could be excused for thinking they might have learned something from the Super Bowl debacle, old history as it may well be.

Okay so what did we learn from this weeks matches.
1. Baltimore are no hope. Take Jackson out of that offense and they have nothing. Their defense was non existent so they can not win their conference if they get that far. 2. I have started to form a group to come up with a do they know its christmas time song for Falcons fans. So last week they gave up 15 points in the last 3 minutes, and this week they gave up a 15 point lead again. Do they know its no good to give up 15 point leads. 3. Mahomes is a genius and if he stays fit this team is the next dynasty. 4. The NFC East division is I hate to say putrid. Just a shadow of the days when the division could get three teams into the playoffs. 5. San Francisco's B squad are good enough to win in the short term. 6. The Steelers look like the old black and yellow wall of defence. Genuine contenders if Big Ben stays fit. 7. Tampa Bay look like they are hitting a rhythm. 8. Cam Newton looks to be fitting in under the evil ones system. 9. The Saints are not up with the top teams, but should still win enough to creep into the post season.

Titans-Steelers clash this week suspended until later this season due to multiple covid positives from within the Titans, both players and off field staff.
Have to wonder if they shouldn't do the same with the Vikings game given they played the Titans last week?

Okay what did we learn this week from our Ten Facts For The Week.
1. Kansas City and Seattle look definite superbowl contenders, no surprise there. 2. Any team at 0-4 are now not post season hopes. 3. The 49ers c squad came back to earth and they need some reinforcements quick to get their season back on track. 4. Lamarr Jackson is the very definition of a one man team. If he gets injured, Baltimore are useless. 5. The Tampa Bay offense looks like it is hitting its stride. 6. The Baker Mayfield/OBJ connection looks like it is hitting its peak. 7. Except for Brees it looks like the older quarterbacks will once again be their at the back end of the season. Rodgers, Brady, Wilson and Rothlisberger all look good early in the season. 8. I hope Grudens last two weeks are not the slide that I thought the Raiders would be hampered by. 9. If you are a NFL fan in New York, you are in a huge amount of trouble, and it looks like this will be the case for the foreseeable future. 10. The team that can hold its defensive line the best will go along way to winning the season. Just about all teams have had defensive lapses and while this will improve as we get into the season ( this is probably the side of the game that was hampered more by the non-existent pre-season), some teams need to improve significantly.

Voyager you're a closer follower than me so would appreciate your appraisal of the Patriots/Chiefs game today. Opportunities taken or lost.
6-3 Chiefs at half time, after which the Patriots quarterback was imo inexcusably sacked in the red zone. And after which... Well over to you.

Just on that "sack", SC which I believe should have been ruled a fumble the referee was quoted on ESPN as follows Referee Tony Corrente said Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes was "being controlled quite a bit" as the reason that a key play in Monday's game against the New England Patriots was ruled a sack and not a fumble.

I think it was a match where we saw how inconsistent inexperienced players can perform SC.
I thought Hoyer the Patriots quarterback showed glimpses of good play, however the Patriots defense was very good on coverage and when the Chiefs defense returned an intercept for at touchdown the game got away from the Patriots. I thought Cam newton looked good working within the evil one's (Bellichek) system so when he gets back the offense performance combined with the Pats defense should be good enough to get to the post season, from a division where the Bills look good as well. For what it is worth horlicks I agree with you re the fumble, but the referees in the NFL make it up as much as the NRL or AFL officials do.

The Raiders will be lucky to field a team this week shrunk with a number of COVID positives. Game was scheduled for the Sunday night prime time but as there is a possibility of cancellation the NFL have rescheduled for normal Sunday time and replaced with Seattle v Ariz to ensure a prime time game.
