I just had a laugh downloading a non whip race in England which a Helmet won.  I remember he didn't like whips either.

The Gp2 Yorkshire Cup over 14 furlongs was won by Stradivarius  (8h Sea The Stars x Private Life, by Bering) who defeated Thunderous by a length with Tashkhan a further 2 lengths back in 3rd place. It was run under set weights & penalties conditions so Stradivarius had to give 3 lbs to the minor placegetters. He has now won 20 races from 33 starts.

Gp1 Poule d'Essai des Pouliches for 3yo fillies over a mile at Longchamp has been won by Mangoustine (3f Dark Angel x Zotilla, by Zamindar) who defeated Cachet by a head with Times Square a further shird head back in 3rd place.

Mangoustine won the Gp3 Prix Miesque as a 2yo. These were her damline details at the time. Related to G1 winners Flotilla, G Force & Lethal Force:-

Gp1 Poule d'Essai des Poulains for 3yo colts over a mile at Longchamp has been won by Modern Games  (3c Dubawi x Modern Ideals, by New Approach) who scored by 1¼ lengths from Texan with Tribalist a further ¾ length back in 3rd place.

As a 2yo Modern Games won the Gr1 Breeders' Cup Juvenile Turf. These were his damline details at the time:-

As a side note, Sportsbet did not bet on the Longchamp meeting. I am very, very angry!

The Gp1 Irish Two Thousand Guineas over a mile at the Curragh has been won by the odds on favourite Native Trail  (3c Oasis Dream x Needleleaf, by Observatory) who defeated New Energy & Imperial Fighter.

I believe that would mean Charlie Appleby has trained the winners of this years's English, French & Irish Guineas with 3 different colts.

A very impressive 2yo just won on debut at York. His name is BRADSELL (2c Tasleet x Russian Punch, by Archipenko). He scored by many, many lengths.

He is from the first crop of his sire Tasleet (Showcasing x Bird Key, by Cadeaux Genereux) who won the Gp2 Duke Of York S & Gp 3 Greenham S as well as being placed in three Gp1 sprints.

4 horses in Racing Post data base have so far rated 100 and above for 2yos, I would imagine this bloke will be the 5th for the season. A line through the runner up I'd suggest 103.

Hallo,
the yet unnamed "bloke" has a quite interesting dam.
Russian punch is bred 3x4x4 Sadlers Wels/Nureyev, the wellnown 3/4 relatives or 3x5x5x5 Special.
so it's a 'Special' ped. The opposite is the Sire "Tasleet" he carries no member of the "Rough Shod Family".

Interestingly is the 5x5 Bahamian cross via Oasis Dream/Beat Hollow from the "Trustful Family", there
is a third strain, if you look behind Forzando, the damsire is Kings Troop. Btw, the family of the German Top Sire "Surumu".

regards, Ticino

Hi Ticino. His name is Bradsell. He was named after Dick Bradsell, a famous bartender who created many new drinks including Russian Spring Punch.

He won by 9 lengths on debut.

The Gp1 Tattersalls Gold Cup over 10½ furlongs at the Curragh has been won by Alenquer (4h Adlerflug x Wild Blossom, by Areion) who defeated High Definition with State Of Rest finishing strongly for a close third.

As a 3yo Alenquer defeated Adayar in the Gp3 Sandown Classic Trial & then won the Gp2 King Edward VII Stakes. In February this year, he won the Gp3 Winter Derby. These were his damline details at the time.

I was pleased to see High Definition race well. As a 2yo, he scored a very impressive win in the Gp2 Beresford Stakes & was made early favourite for the Derby. However, after running 3rd to Hurricane Lane in the Dante Stakes, he lost form. Hopefully, he can now live up to the early wraps.

The Gp1 Irish 1000 Guineas for 3yo fillies over a mile at the Curragh has been won by Homeless Songs  (3f  Frankel x Joailliere, by Dubawi) who won very easily from Tuesday with Concert Hall third.

It was an outstanding performance by Homeless Songs who is trained by Dermot Weld for Moyglare Stud Farm. Last month she won the 1000 Guineas Trial Stakes at Leopardstown. These were her damline details at the time.

Interesting that the family has stakes performers up to the G3 level before this boy.  Australasian blood is a downgrader isn't it?  Obviously in this case not the case.  Also maybe the Australian based Sidesteps should be going out over a mile.

Yes. It was a very impressive performance by Bay Bridge (4h New Bay x Hayyona, by Multiplex) in the Gp3 Brigadier Gerard Stakes. He's likely to run in the Prince Of Wales's Stakes at Royal Ascot although he also has an entry for the Hardwicke Stakes.

Damline details:-

The Gp1 Oaks at Epsom has been won by Tuesday (3f Galileo x Lillie Langtry, by Danehill Dancer) who scored by a nose from Emily Upjohn with Nashwa in 3rd place.

The unlucky runner was the favourite, Emily Upjohn, who made a complete mess of the start but rattled home to narrowly miss. Frankie Dettori, hang your head in shame.

Tuesday is beautifully bred as she is a full sister to Minding (winner of 7 Group Ones) while their dam, Lillie Langtry, won 2 Group Ones.
