Embarrassing really, more than likely all well bred no wonder he wins so many group races , I honestly feel sorry for the battling trainer over there.

It is disappointing.

The rest tend to concentrate on handicappers and short course horses or National Hunt.

It astonishes me that large Irish stables like Dermot Weld, Jim Bolger & Willie Mullins wouldn’t have at least 1 horse suitable to run in this race.

Anyway it would be nice to see Capri get back to the winners circle again.

Marmelo has now run in three Prix Kergorlay's for a win in 2017, runner-up in 2018 and another win in 2019. The Prix Kergorlay has been a good guide to the Melbourne Cup in recent years:

Americain (2010) and Protectionist (2014) won this race and then went on to win the Melbourne Cup. Dunaden (2011) finished 9th and went on to win the Melbourne Cup whilst Red Cadeaux finished 5th (2011) and ran 3rd behind Dunaden in the Cup. Marmelo ran 2nd in 2018 and went on to run 2nd in the Cup.

The Prix Kergorlay is a 3000m race run under set weights with penalties conditions
Australian racing is only good up to 1400m in terms of world standards when it comes to depth/quality in numbers

Jamal: Maybe you're posting would be better suited in the Melbourne Cup thread rather than here since you give more information in that focus from that point rather than an "European racing" POV, although I don't deny that it is graded race but compared to the other two G1 races that were on the card at Deauville its a bit weak...

Ryan Moore rode a blinder on Japan (5/1) to beat Crystal Ocean (11/10f) by a head today in the G1 Juddmonte International. Probably the best race this year in Britain.

Geez, the Baden winner pissed in... 14L, eased up over the last 100m.

Racing Post rated him 128, which puts him in the same postcode as Enable, but he'd need to back it up if he's to enter the frame in a month's time.

Friday's G2 Doncaster Cup see the 3rd placegetter of the 2017 Melbourne Cup and sometime hurdler Max Dynamite (16/1) take on winner of his last ten runs, Stradivarius (1/2on).

Great horse but like Winx and Enable they are getting less and less in numbers trying to beat him.  Yesterday he beat only 4 horses.  Another G2 winner and two LR winners.  So maybe our class isn't too bad also.

But looking for a G2 with at least older horses today in Australia I'm left with the Theo Marks with a field after scratchings of 10.  There are three G1 winners and another G1 placegetter.  Every horse except for Baller has either a stakes win or stakes place to its name.  More than often multiple stakes places.  So the statement that class is in the English races and not in ours is ridiculous.

When a good horse runs and wins time and time again.  The fields do get smaller.  When our top horse tomorrow is a dual G1 placegetter because the three G1 winners in the field are mares you do have to feel sorry for Zousain.  But just because it is a quality handicap doesn't mean that the class of the field is less than a WFA G2 race might get.  Plenty of SW and WFA running today including the G1 down in Melbourne and nothing wrong with those fields either.

Pinatubo just won the Gp1 National Stakes at the Curragh by a big margin. I am now thinking he is the best two year old I have seen over since Frankel.

The most impressive runner today at The Curragh was the win in the G1 National Stakes over 7 furlongs by the undefeated 2YO Pinatubo (1/3on) trained by C. Appleby.

Hope he shows up in the Breeders' Cup Turf at Santa Anita.

Djebel-have you had a look at his breeding? He has classic horse written all over him and should win a few group 1's unless there are better ones hiding somewhere!

If someone can put up his pedigree it would be appreciated.

The Gp3 Prix Thomas Bryon (Saint-Cloud) has been won by King's Command (2g by Dubawi x O'Giselle, by Octagonal).

His dam is the Australian mare O'Giselle (a full sister to Lonhro) who also has produced Albrecht (by Redoute's Choice), winner of the 2012 Gp3 Up & Coming Stakes at Warwick  Farm.

King's Command won by three and a half lengths so he might have a decent future although the track was very soft.

Waldgeist spoils the party coming with strong run to overhaul Enable who ran a gallant second.

Hello,
I couldn't hardly believe, when I checked the result of the "Arc". The Germanbred by the "Ammerland Stud/Newsells Park Stud, but in France trained "Waldgeist"  (won Prix Ganay, Frix Foy) had won the prestigious race. He is now the third "homebred", after Star Appeal (1975) and Danedream (2011)!

Waldgeist - yet another Galileo. I assumed Monsun would be in there somewhere and sure enough he is the sire of the dam.

Waldgeist wins the Arc! Beating Enable! This is the horse that couldn't beat our Queensland Derby winner Eagle Way in the Group 1 Hong Kong Vase, but she manages to beat Enable.

Great effort

Pinatubo has just won the Gp1 Dewhurst Stakes defeating Arizona & Wichita. He won by a couple of lengths so it wasn't as dominant as his victory in the National Stakes but that is probably because of the soft track. He's an outstanding colt.

Hello,
some more success for Germanbred horses. Admittingly only placed, but another good effort.

Miss Yoda (Sea the Stars - Monami by Sholokhov, 2 year old, filly) ran second in the "Zetland Stakes", Group 3, 2000 meter (!), Newmarket, 12.10.19 (She was sold at the BBAG Yearlings Auction for 280.000 Euros ~ 420.000 AUS$), Breeder: Etzean Stud; Trainer: J. Gosden; Jockey: F. Dettori

Binti Al Nar (Areion - Best Moving by Reset, mare, 4 year old, mare) ran third in the "Premio Verziere Memorial Aldo Cirla", Group 3, 2000 meter, San Siro (Italy), 12.10.19.
Breeder: Riepegrund Stud; Trainer: P. Schiergen, Jockey: C. Fiocchi
Reset have a familiar ring, does it?

Thanks Ticino.

In the event you hadn't heard, Reset was withdrawn from service prior to the start of this current  Southern Hemisphere breeding season and will spend the rest of his (celibate) days in a lovely Godolphin spelling paddock.

After ten consecutive wins, Stradivarius has been defeated by Kew Gardens in the Gp2 British Champions Long Distance Cup. The winning margin was only a nose & it is generally considered that a heavy track is not really to Stradivarius' liking. Still, a fine performance by the winner who was successful in 2018 St Leger. An outstanding race!
