Snitzel
Cinq Rouge
Lucas Bloodstock, Boonah, Qld
I love her! Great expression, enough leg & huge shoulder with oodles of growing to do, imo (real baby face) 111
B
Colt
Exceed and Excel
Emotional Circus
Highgrove Stud, Darling Downs, Qld Not my type, no wither yet, lacking girth depth, shoulders don't match his rear end & that big belly detracts too. He'll probably end up a champion now 218
B
Colt
Written Tycoon
Maidel
Sledmere Stud, Scone Lovely laid back looking colt, beautifully balanced, love his head but is his shoulder a tad upright. He's not my type but reckon I'd make an exception even tho' he's not a chestnut WT (my preference which stats probably don't support) Thanks djebel, I'll UNcopy mine In saying all that, I go for line breeding to top mares then check out the physical but that's just me Edited by Gay3 - 02 Apr 2018 at 12:44pm |

OK gone through my whole extended list (which needs to loose the too dear ones which will cut it down to too many anyway!) I have 174, 218 and 271 included. It is so great that we all have different ideas to look for or something would sell for $12million and another equally good lot $100K just because everyone was on the other lot.

Those two are also on my list (359 and 206) but I think I've just over 40 marked and will have to see what they sell for. Too dear and I knock them off the list to follow as most million dollar lots never win that back. I have kept some over the 1/2 million when I really really loved them and this sale sees most of the ones you really love sell close to or over that!
But it just shows we all look for different things as of your above numbers I only have 206, 212, 359 and 48 is out of Bonaria. I picked her dam out of the yearling sales so follow her decendents. It's been a pretty good family to follow.

Djebel has the right 218 photo. Gay you took the photo off but left the number so it looked like the Exceed and Excel colt was 218?
Ooops & thanks - corrected now Edited by Gay3 - 02 Apr 2018 at 12:45pm |

Going on Monday. I'm sure a few lots got bumped up a level after today. It is so great to see the Pierro's staying. That is what his pedigree promised and now we have a young stallion giving speed to those staying line fillies. Great for our industry. Mind you I was still yelling for Ace High and he also ran supremely. And a Snitzel finished third. When the protest went in I thought well Arrowfield won't mind as either of them were our of Redoute's mares.

Wouldn't turn you off many in that catalogue Carioca. The Pierro is particularly an interesting cross from the breeder. Didn't mark it as I thought probably too dear to follow. And who wouldn't love a filly from the 102 family. Will be interesting to see that lot also. Once again at the moment not marked but if it goes unders I'm on it also.

It's funny Breeder that the Easter Sale often attracts international pedigrees but it is usually the home pages which make the most money. But Arrowfield has been sending homebred mares (usually from the best families also) to Japan. Danehill line have crossed well with More Than Ready (also halo line) so no reason to think that the cross won't work. One would think Deep Impact would be on a far higher scale to Manhattan Rain also and Charming Estelle has a minor stakes winner by him.
That said this is the perfect mate for Pierro so why they sent her overseas I don't know.

I'm starting to warm to the Pierro stock furious, I think they are tough and durable, that 3yo Furore who ran a very respectable 6th in the Derby yesterday has done it all on his first prep, looks to have a bright future, I hope so , I will follow him.

Went out and looked at my lots today. Certainly culled the list I had.
The standout for me off my list was 218, 73 and 111 also we’re very very nice but 73 will go for big bucks and out of my range. Even for a share 2 kitchwin hills lots were very good. 152 out of Go Indy Go and 394 from Tabasco Kitten Reckon the 152 will go for well over 1.5mill |

Internationally bred yearlings 🤑 Humph, name me one yearling bred overseas and sold in Australia anywhere that would be considered a good horse.
Lots of poohhah at sale time, way overpriced here at sale - if sold at all - for little/no return for anyone other than vendor. |

Having said the above, what a pedigree on #405 the Epiphaneia filly. Arrow field will want a motza for it, stayerthrough and through. Maybe Sargent could win an Oaks with it, as long as taken very slowly.

Surely not, that sort of stuff does not go on. It's all genuine and yearling buying and selling has integrity beyond question

Agree Sir Gov really looking forward to it, had a look at lot 218 on video I must say what a massive overstep he has and such a fluent walking action, there is one thing to watch in my way of thinking is he may bulk up quickly they will have to be careful, fwiw, my tip to top to days sale is lot 23, a Snitzel colt, an absolute stunner.

Carioca, got him out of the box yesterday and fell in love Got a very well r specked judge to give me his thoughts. Agreed that he as exceptional but felt the same as you. Very thick through the neck and was worried he’ would bulk up too much if kept as a stallion. Gelding probably needed. I guess the question is, how much do you pay for a stunning looking gelding at a sale like this |

Not one of my picks mate, but was bought by an old acquaintance who trains in WA. With her breeding you could very nearly pencil her in for the WA Oaksin two years time.
