This second wave in Vic sort of backs up my theory. Dont wash as often down that way - colder weather tends to encourage that behavior. Bit like the pommies - have a shower once a month regardless of weather they need it or not. Answer = encourage better hygiene practices - would be money well spent.

All these return travellers bringing it with them. Why dont they quarantine where they are before they come back here. Oh thats right, the tax payers can foot the bill if they come home with it.

Deb Frecklington will be wondering about the wisdom of promoting the open door policy, what with the Victorian situation, the pesky virus, and the BLM pests, have wrong-footed her.

I query whether Anastacia and her CMO were in agreement in opening Qld up to southern visitors. Seems like a dumb idea to take the chance of importing it from Victoria.

The easing announced on June 30 included all Victorians placed in 2 weeks quarantine. That changed to locked out pretty quickly as numbers looked likely to escalate in Victoria.

the biggest problem for the BLM brigade is the Surge of STD up North .
Syphilis is a horror disease making a comeback. - In August 2018, WA declared that the outbreak had spread to the Pilbara region with the first syphilis notification in this region in February 2018. In January 2019, SA declared the outbreak had spread to Adelaide with the first notification in this region reported in February 2018. In May 2019, WA declared the outbreak had spread to the Goldfields region with the first notification in this region reported in January 2019. 2020 some 2500 cases reported. |

Interstate arrivalsFrom 12.01pm 10 July 2020, any person travelling from New South Wales, Western Australia, South Australia, Tasmania, the Australian Capital Territory and the Northern Territory may enter Queensland subject to completing and signing a border declaration and undertaking (an agreement) to comply with mandatory COVID-19 testing requirements whilst in Queensland. This means you must take a COVID-19 test if you develop any symptoms consistent with COVID-19 within 14 days of entering Queensland. Any person who has been in a declared COVID-19 hotspot (including Victoria) within the last 14 days will not be permitted to enter Queensland, unless they are:
People seeking to move to Queensland to make it their new place of residence will not be permitted to enter Queensland if they have been in a COVID-19 hotspot. There are also special requirements for agribusiness and commercial fishing employees or contractors entering Queensland for work. |

There have allegedly been numerous false declarations made by people entering Qld. Honour systems don't work, and the fines imposed, are not backed by jail if unpaid. It is only a matter of time before Qld has "hotspots".

I read on the weekend there were arrest warrants out for southerners who had submitted false declarations so it seems they are taking it seriously and researching the declarations.
I wonder if they intend increasing random testing up there? Last week Vic and NSW both averaged approaching 30,000 a day while Qld still averaged around 6,800 tests a day. If there is to be any leakage from that couple of weeks window, they should be starting to show positive soon, so I would have thought expanded random testing would have started.

I couldn't agree more..............but then we have her equal in Vic A LEAGUE OF THEIR OWN While thousands of everyday Aussies are suffering due to lockdown laws and border bans, Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk has granted special privileges to American movie star Tom Hanks and allowed him to enter Queensland from overseas. Apparently, if you are rich and famous Premier Palaszczuk has decided the rules don't have to apply. This is nothing short of a huge slap in the face to the thousands of Aussies desperately trying to navigate Queensland's draconian border lockdown. My office has been inundated with calls and emails from Australians desperately trying to get permission to be with seriously ill or dying loved ones in Queensland. Some of them have been waiting to hear from the Palaszczuk Government for days without answer! Apparently, if you are just a regular Aussie you get left on hold, yet when she feels like it Premier Palaszczuk can move mountains for movie stars. What an absolute disgrace! It does appear that "celebrities" are waved through, but do we know whether Mr Hanks did his 14 days quarantine when he returned ?

Fair enough, that complies, obviously the woman wanting to go to a funeral would not, I am not that impressed by Morrison involving himself in that, perish the though he sees a political advantage in it.

Her's would be a case of the "thin edge of the wedge". If you are going to apply a blanket rule, and allow exceptions, where do you draw the line, and that is the problem, in drawing a line.

Seems Anna is going a bit better than Gold Standard Gladys. She has just threatened to sack the Nationals from Cabinet unless they get inline before 10AM tomorrow.

Irrespective of the koala business it must be truly galling for Gladys to have such a total dipsh1t like John Barilaro as Deputy Premier of NSW.
Entirely reminiscent of Scotty From Marketing having to suffer as Michael McCormack Deputy Leader of the Federal Coalition.

Barilaro offers his resignation to the Nationals as Gladys wins the koala stare-down and Nationals back down on their threat to walk out.
Just another LNP clustercluck, nothing to see here.
