Mate of mine has a small share in this import which won on debut at Canterbury today for them.

They were very uncertain in the going today, as the previous trainer said he was a duffer in the wet.

Not the normal Europlod, it is a sprinter, just wondering what the thoughts are on the breeding, and the sire, etc ... Cheers!

Yes, I did decline a share Cry, but I did obtain a (very) little bit of the $26 (less deductions).
In reference to every post in the Trump thread ... "There may have been a tiny bit of license taken there" ... Ok, Thanks for the "heads up" PT!

Well done Doc. I was dirty on not backing the thing myself. Did the analysis in my normal 3 minute race to race mode & couldn't come up with anything. Everything seemed to be stepping up in grade coming off recent wins ( which i hate) & on a bog track to boot. Kept coming back to the import. Sprinkling of money for it. So ALMOST by default.......... Anyhow - you know the rest of the story !

I thought I was the only one who operates '3 mins race to race' selection mode & ommits last start winners LOL
Well done Doc & fwiw, I think you've pulled the right rein by not being financially involved unless of course you hanker for 'owner' status & mounting yard admission Wink

And on the race, I doubt any of them were handling the heavy conditions. Stamina won out in the end.

They have it pegged as up to listed grade class and up to a mile ... as I said, there was no real confidence due to the wet track, but Bowman never hurts their chances ... may have done a Steven Bradbury too, but it had improved in it's work from the plain trials.

No Gai ... I nearly got a few of us into Supergiant before he raced last year - too slow and missed the boat.Cry

The one we ended up with (a couple of hairs in his tail for me - not enough to string my violin bow!) is coming back to the stables now for his first serious prep - rising 3 yo by Tavistock ... bring on the Derby!Big smile

Exactly my thoughts on seeing his pedigree but I'm sure he didn't. However what other explanation could there be?

Pedigree Query says he shuttled but didn't appear to have many foals in Ireland.

Stood 4 years in Ireland at Oak Lodge Stud between 2005/08 at 6.5K ( high ) and 5K ( low).

Total of 83 lots catalogued for 73 sold. Highest ever lot sold for 85K. It was all downhill from there.

Not bad for a class 5 race.

Stunning turn around in the form.

He had a beautiful run when they last met and was flogged.

This time he had the harder trip and wins.

almost a 3 length turn around.

The difference perhaps the favourite off 49 days between runs, the winner just 17.

That is all I can put it down to.
