A stunning few weeks for COTEHELE HOUSE line-breeding - Verry Elleegant, Cosmic Force and now Fiscal Fantasy; there have only been 19 runners line-bred to her and FIVE are Group winners!
So proud to have been associated with three of them - Quilate, Fair Trade & Fiscay Fantasy

Not a bad strike rate Clap
Wisdom has been chasing me but I've always outrun it!

How many mares have been line bred to Danehill without the results she has had down thru her generations. I bet Furious can tell us.
animals before people.

This from another thread re the attractiveness of Verry Elleegant's pedigree:

" Particularly the crosses of both Eight Carat (via Cotehele House) and Special.
And the Danehill is sex balanced which is unfortunately rather less common than the all-male cross. View Post

Look at it this way.  How many stakes winners does Skilled have?  I think Cotehele House must have something to do with the success here.

Also nothing wrong with doubling the Danehill in this female line.  Cotehele House is the dam of Danewin and Commands both sons of Danehill!

So like Mystic Journey in that not only are you inbred to the damline but you are inbred to the line that has produced your best stakes winner.

Quilate, a G3 winner by Bramshaw ex an unraced (I think) Dangerous mare. A less glamorous black type pedigree would be hard to find Tongue She surely is a gem of a mare Clap

Sorry Gay but Danehill could also help as I've said above.  Combining both the line and the sire which gave the line the best stake results.  Gold.

Not having a dig, did not even look at the author.

Danehill has turned the lights on in this mating IMO.

Equally nice to have a Blue Hen Mare doubled up in the mating.

I have a Commands mare Cotehele House prominent of course.
She is jet black and looks quite similar.

2 X 3

Zabeel x Danehill ( Female Line)

That is one of the best crosses you can get.

Sure it is Romantic to attribute it to Cotehele House she getting back a bit 4 x 4 ......who knows maybe.

That's where you want most inbreeding to start Paul.  Any closer and you get all the bad usually.  It's like the Redoute's cross they keep putting Canny Lad mares to his sons.  Just asking for leg issues.  Once you get out a bit and you have two sound individuals these sorts of crosses can and do work.

Taking out Cosmic Force as he is not tail female line Cotehele house, the other 4 group winners were either tail female to Wycombe or Chalet Girl which were daughters of Cotehele House both by Imposing. Coincidentally the only 2 progeny of Cotehele by Imposing.

I wonder if anyone can bring up stats for line breeding to Wycombe and/or Chalet Girl.

Hello,
congrats to the success of the "Cotehele House" Family in Australia. She traces further back to the famous "Mumtaz Mahal" and her meanwhile widely spread descents.

I have noticed Golden Horn (by Cape Cross), English Derby winner in 2015 belongs to the same branch via "Lora" a differant daughter of 'Klairessa'. A Hypomating of Golden Horn/Cotehele House shows even more Connections.

regards, Ticino

Plutocrat (2f Rich Enuff x Personal Guarantee, by Danzero) wins the LR Tattersalls Club Stakes at Eagle Farm. Her 3rd dam was Cotehele House.

Hello,
when I went through the peds of the "Classic Winners" in England (Derby, Oaks).
I got the feeling You have already spot the damline before.
Yes I was right, the 3rdplaced "Frankly Darling" (Oaks) the common ancestor "Nuryana", from the the same family as the Derbywinner in 2015 "Golden Horn" and widely related with 'Cotehele House' in AUS.

regards, Ticino
