Whereas Coventry looms large for Michael O'Brien.

Delayed as it is by the restriction of non-business/commercial gatherings in excess of 10 in Victoria, meaning the eleven or so Liberal/National Opposition members can't get together to agree on who's going to actually grab the garotte.

However we digress.

More Coalition wingnuts going for leadership of the anti-lockdown party.

Campbell Newman, Ross Cameron ... There is so much talent to choose from.

Campbell Newman.  What a total underwhelming person, let alone politician.

Lived and lives on the coat tails of his parents.  Failure in uniform, leads the Qld NLP for just one term before being flogged at the polls.

And just now resigns from the LNP citing "conservative politics has lost its way".  Five minutes after Laurence Springborg was elected LNP President, damning him (Newman) to entirely understandable irrelevancy.

Four more weeks of Deliveroo, old movies and time to finish book six.

My youngest rang today to ask whether we wanted to go swimming with her on Sunday, since it's projected to warm up. I just laughed.  Said if we decide to exercise, we might head that way, but don't count on it.

Thank god for the Olympics and footy...if they don't pull the plug on the NRL because Roberts put a towel on his balcony...

 Seriously...how does that contaminate anything..?

Can do may be underwhelming, but lets never forget that the LNP chose to have him as leader from outside of the parliament rather than risk going in with the likes of Seeney, Springborg, Langbroek, Flegg or any number of other wet lettuce leaves when going to an election against the corpse that was the Bligh ALP Qld government, which obviously says a lot more about that collection of names than it does suggest any prowess on Newmans part.

Although to be fair, at least Springborg has manged to resurrect his career somewhat, now being the mayor of Goondiwindi, while Seeney did manage to have a dinosaur named after him (that subsequently burnt down), Flegg and Langbroek seem to have done nothing of note while Newman has just hung out in the peanut gallery with the other monkeys flinging his poo at everyone else.

http://thenewdaily.com.au/news/2021/07/28/covid-vaccine-mandatory/?utm_source=Adestra&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=Morning%20News%20-%2020210728

Mandatory shots: Unvaccinated Australians likely to face reduction in freedoms

Mandatory vaccines are controversial, but those who choose to stay unvaccinated will face a reduction in freedoms, Australian health authorities have warned.

This week it was announced New York City will require all municipal workers – including police officers, firefighters and teachers – to get vaccinated against coronavirus or take a weekly test, as America’s biggest city struggles under an uptick of cases.

In Germany, rising cases also prompted Chancellor Angela Merkel’s chief of staff to warn that restrictions for unvaccinated people may be necessary if COVID-19 infection numbers continue to soar.

Australia has already implemented mandatory vaccines for aged-care staff and vaccination passports are being considered – once all eligible residents have been offered the vaccine.

The AFL is also plotting out its attendance plans: Fans might have to show proof of vaccination or a negative COVID test, to get through the gates on game day.

Australian Medical Association national vice-president Chris Moy said it was likely Australia would hit a point where those who are unvaccinated are refused entry to restaurants, cafes, sporting events and crowded spaces.

“As time goes on, it’s going to change what you as a citizen can access,” Dr Moy said.

“It may be mandatory to have a vaccine to go into the cinema or restaurant.

“Nobody has made a clear policy, but I would think that would be reasonable.”

It looks increasingly likely that vaccination slows the rate of transmission, which was the strongest argument for limiting freedoms, he said.

“There will be an outcry from the anti-vaxx movement,” Dr Moy said.

“But those who get the vaccine made a decision about protecting themselves and their communities, and those who are anti-vaxx have not.”

He dangled Australia’s favourite pastime of going to the pub as a good incentive to boost vaccination numbers.

“They need to start signalling it and say to people: ‘You won’t be able to access certain things if you don’t get vaccinated. They may not let you through the door’,” he said.more...

So Tucker Carlson was accosted in a fishing shop in Montana over the weekend and called out for his vaccine lies amongst other things, with a video of the incident uploaded to the man’s Instagram page. On the surface the exchange seems amusing when you hear the guy call him “the worst human being known to mankind”, Tucker’s trademark smirk and then the blow up when he calls the guy “son”. But when you consider Carlson was there with his Daughter and basically minding his own business it’s pretty obvious the guy was way out of line. Pieces of gelati like Tucker Carlson should be called out but not in this fashion.

As seen on FB from G & B Lawyers

The CDC has withdrawn emergency approval for PCR testing for SARS-CoV-2.
"CDC encourages laboratories to consider adoption of a multiplexed method that can facilitate detection and differentiation of SARS-CoV-2 and influenza viruses."
Is this an admission that the COVID-19 tests used in Australia can't tell the difference between COVID-19 and influenza? Or that they are the same thing? Or the tests just don't work at all? Maybe all of the above.
This has huge implications. People's businesses have been shut down and lives have been destroyed on the basis of a test that the CDC now says it no longer supports.

The Lab Alert notified users that the CDC would be withdrawing its request for emergency use authorization for its COVID-19 PCR diagnostic test after December 2021. This isn’t because the performance of the CDC’s RT-PCR test for detecting COVID-19 showed any problems, but because tests that are capable of processing more samples within a given time and detecting more than one pathogen have since been developed. Such characteristics make these tests the preferred alternatives in the interests of time and resources.

PT... Are you talking about women's boobs getting bigger, after the Pfizer jab?

more likely they are growing from all the ordered-in pizza...

mine will be bigger after lunch, today. Extra large supreme, garlic bread and a vanilla malt...

a few other body parts are expanding, too...Ouch

a friend of mine, in America, had the Pfizer when she was pregnant...in her third trimester. She is a doctor, herself, so was very informed about possible side-effects. She has had no problems, gave birth and the baby is healthy and thriving.

these scare-mongers, who say the vaccines contain all manner of things, are looking like the conspiracy theorists they are...

No it was a story that appeared in Le Monde a few weeks ago about a leaked report saying that there was a greatly elevated number of deaths from Pfizer vaccine over AstraZeneca. It was repeated on RT Network as news, It was exposed as a scam at the time likely financed by Russians.

For some reasons it is floating about the margins again today. I guess the original stuck and like Pizzagate, Gamergate etc, it has been resurrected by conspiracy theorists as a ''fact''.

Women who have had the Pfizer vaccine are reporting an unexpected side effect – claiming their breasts have grown bigger after having the jab.

Pfizer is one of two vaccinations currently being rolled out across Australia in the fight against Covid-19.

Common side effects from Covid-19 vaccines include pain at the injection site, headaches, fatigue, or feeling flu-like symptoms.

But many women have noticed their breasts and lymph nodes had “swollen” after receiving their jabs, dubbing the effect the “Pfizer boob job”.

According to Australian Department of Health, inflamed lymph nodes are a less common side effect of the vaccinations.

In the US, where the vaccination rollout is further along than Australia, doctors have reported an influx of newly vaccinated women making mammogram appointments.

Dr. Laura Esserman, director of University of California San Francisco’s Breast Care Center, said women were confusing swollen lymph nodes after the vaccine for signs of cancer.

“I’m sure hundreds of thousands of women will be affected by this for sure,” said Dr. Esserman told ABC7 Chicago.
