I hate humidity, Feb and March are my most disliked months for that reason, give me April to November all year and I'd be a happy old fellow. Nothing worse than sweating just cause you are doing hard work and lifting heavy objects.

The humidity is a killer  !  Its only 30 at present but 60% humidity.
It was bliss in Tasmania.  Between 22 and 24 day time and no humidity . Mild nights good for sleeping.  You sun burn very easy tho. Mrs S says there is a big hole in the sky down there. I reckon she is right.
If we were a bit younger we would move there. Wish we had done it 10 years ago.

We had a further 200ml of rain overnight , 2 nights ago.  Floods everywhere in town as the ground is at saturation point after almost 200 about a week ago, and steady rain on and off ever since.
Place has gone green overnight.  OH mowed twiced in a week.

I would mention battery lawn mowers but I've seen too many thousand page forum debates on petrol vs battery mowers to risk it.Clown

I gave my petrol lawn mower away a few years ago.

Making artificial grass involves significant, resource-intensive manufacturing processes, primarily relying on petroleum-based polymers and high energy consumption. < jsuid="bdCP5b_c" ="0" -amic="true" -icl-uuid="20370a4d-f688-4444-8916-54affdbfc5b4" aria-label="View related s" ="rBl3me" js="click:&bdCP5b_a|S9kKve;mouseenter:&bdCP5b_a|sbHm2b;mouseleave:&bdCP5b_a|Tx5Rb" -wiz-attrbind="=bdCP5b_a/C5gNJc;aria-label=bdCP5b_a/bOjMyf;=bdCP5b_a/UpSNec" -ved="2ahUKEwiTsq-JyrSTAxXOyqACHX1RBgcQye0OegQIARAB" -hveid="CAEQAQ" -processed="true" style="margin: 0px 6px 0px 0px; : rgb229, 237, 255; border-width: initial; border-style: none; border-color: initial; border-radius: 10px; height: 20px; padding: 0px; width: 20px; : relative; outline: 0px; cursor: pointer;">

Goats will only eat grass as a last resort, after they've had a go at everything else in the garden. And they leave a lot of calling cards.

Some strange benefits, believable LOL
An advertisement by Coastal Synthetic Turf, no self interest there Confused

5. Preserving Wildlife Habitats

Natural lawns often disrupt local ecosystems by displacing native plant species and diminishing wildlife habitats. Artificial grass provides an alternative that promotes biodiversity and preserves wildlife habitats. By opting for synthetic grass, you create a stable environment that supports the local wildlife, allowing them to flourish amidst a more sustainable and low-maintenance landscape.

10. Enhancing Aesthetics

Last but not least, artificial grass enhances the aesthetics of your back garden. With its vibrant green colour, consistent appearance, and soft texture, synthetic grass provides a picture-perfect and inviting landscape all year round. You can enjoy a beautifully manicured garden without worrying about bare spots, weeds, or seasonal changes that affect the appearance of natural lawns.

Okay spin doctor Wink

Artificial grass generally has a net negative effect on resources and the environment when evaluated over its entire lifecycle, despite providing localized, short-term benefits like water savings and reduced maintenance. While it eliminates the need for pesticides and lawnmower fuel, it is manufactured from petroleum-based plastics, causes significant environmental degradation, creates urban heat, and is difficult to recycle, typically ending up in landfill

Tiaz

I took a chance on a Stihl battery lawn mower as bit over s year ago.

It doesnt cut quite as wide a swathe as petrol ones i have had so catcher needs to be emptied a little more often.

Blades are sharp and cuts thru thick couch grass - I have plenty of grass live on a corner block so probably double the grass area most large house blocks have (say 140+ sqm incl nature strip)
1
Struggles with grass that is 6 inches long (small council median strip out front i sometimes mow) but that is whippersnipper stuff anyway - if grass is that long then probably dont care much about gardening.

Only issue is getting battery into both charger and lawn mower which can be finnicky.  Took it back to dealer and found just need to make sure connectors in mower are straight because they are soft metal which can bend - now i know problem not been a problem since.

I would buy it again.

Has Stihl still got that awful respooling process? My father had a Stihl 2 stroke and not only was it a bastard to start but respooling was a pain in the arse. So I never trimmed his lawn.LOL He got an Ego and line trimming was a pleasure. I actually enjoyed doing it. And respooling it.Thumbs Up

i have a cheap 240 volt whippersnipper got from bunnings years ago - each piece of line is about 30cm long which means putting a new piece of line in every 10 mins or so of use or every time i use it.  Surprised it has lasted this long
