If you are waiting for the 2019 world championship trials, guess what, you blinked and missed them.

This is a cautionary tale for all AFL and NRL players who think the broadcast money for their sport is a god given right.

This sport has gone from one of our most loved, to a footnote in the sports pages.

Swimming Australia will be hoping that the placement of the trils closer to the championships (the trials for worlds and olympics has usually doubled as the Australian Championship in february) will result in better results in South Korea.

Kyle Chalmers looked back to his best winning the 100m in 2019 world best time, and he accomplishd the 100m and 200m double. Araiarne Titmus qualified for the 200m 400m and 800m fresstyle and will make up a leg of our 100 and 200m relay teams, and the new name on the horizon looks to be Kiah Melverton who won the 1500m womens freestyle and grabbed a 400m and 800m freestyle spot.

As yet Swimming Australia have not sold the free to air rights for the world championships, to a channel, so it will be interesting to see how things turn out with this issue.
Remember, it might take intelligence to be smart , but it takes experience to be wise

Other than at the Olympics I strongly doubt that swimming has ever rated. Even when the immortal Ray Warren was amping it up to the max.
