From the tv coverage you wouldn't even know it's Australia Day.

Saw the finish of a citizenship ceremony...and that was it.

We are having lamb cutlets for lunch. About as much as we are capable of.

One survey seemed to be suggesting that a lot of people dont care what today is just so long as they get a long weekend.  Personally all public holidays are a waste cos i dont work anymore

And it's abundantly clear that more than a few employed people who regularly post on TBV don't spend too much time working either Tom.  Wink

You could also argue that those that do claim to have worked for a lot of years.....wouldn't have really worked even in an iron lung.....is that correct Second Chance ? LOL

Wouldn't exactly know 11, though if you're at all interested could list the very specific, demonstrable outcomes I can hang my hat on as a servant of the public. Tongue

Totally agree - but for the opposite reason: all public holidays are just another work day for me. As I’m sure FF, GAJ and others can attest, horses still sh1t and need to be fed Big smile

I’m having an Indian feast tonight! I was soooo inspired by all the whinging about immigrant curry cooking smells, I’ve supported our  Australian-Indians who make the best butter chicken, beef korma, naan and saffron rice … Happy Australia Day! Big smile

Had a quick yarn with Terry down at No 1 this morning.  To his credit always flies the Aussie flag at appropriate times such as today.

Though knowing him was less than taken aback when he took issue with the alleged number of coloured, female, and otherwise outlander nominees for the various awards. That even given they were very much in the minority.

A true Aussie bloke, our nearby neighbour.

We switched our lamb cutlets to dinner. The daughter did them 'jammed' with seeded mustard added. Absolutely delicious.

I was blackmailed into cooking the veges, though. Mashed potato and steamed carrot and zucchini.

(every time I cook zucchini I am reminded of my racist father, who once said: "Bad enough they let Italians into the country, but what the hell is a zuchaniki?")

 Ermm

That’s yum too! Last night I had homemade hamburgers - with beetroot of course. The night before it was Chinese roast pork (the delish red-coated stuff). Tomorrow night will be homegrown zucchini lasagne. I’m across all the multicultural food groups … or just food in general Embarrassed

Always was always will be something different. Shifting the goal posts. Whatever happens its never good enough. Its not about Invasion Day perse. Its about White Australia as a whole and it always will be. Burning the flag at an Invasion Day rally clearly shows its not about 26th Jan, its about White Australia.
