Tasmania's Liberal government to be thrown into minority as MPs defect over $715 million AFL stadium in Hobart

Tasmania's Liberals will lead a minority government when two northern MPs quit the party later this morning to sit as independents, partially over concerns about a $715 million stadium for Hobart.

"For me, as an accountant, as an economist, as a person that has worked in a not-for-profit sector, it's really hard for me to understand this particular investment [a stadium]; I just can't get my head around it."

An honest politician is one who when he is bought will stay bought.

Wonder how many touches Nic Daicos would have accumulated yesterday had the opposition not double-tagged him?

did they double-tag him? Maybe because they didn't actually assault him, no-one noticed.

Bobby Hill had his head screwed off, but that was allowed...Wink

Amazingly clean game...with Coxzilla providing most of the highlights. Heart

Daicos was only second best on-ground...

Amazing what a set of special-for-purpose spectacles can do for a player.

ps there's a rumor he might well be up for a political gig following his football career.  Wink

85% of AFL footballers kick with their right foot and 10% of that 85% can kick with either foot.

Kane Cornes is an absolutely p-poor AFL journo.  Very little positive comment, just seeks clicks.  The very worst of a glass half empty commentator who thrives on negativity.  Angry

For instance claimed the Bulldogs, and its coach in particular, were rubbish.  Claimed Port Power was rubbish.  Claimed Suns were rubbish.  Since then those three teams have won about 16 of their last 21 matches.

Just imo.

ridiculous to lose a match on that technicality. A fine would have been more appropriate.

 Ruined the entire game.

Hawthorn champion Cyril Rioli and his wife Shannyn Ahsam-Rioli are taking charge in the racism investigation scandal, penning a bombshell open letter as the families involved take their case to the Human Rights Commission.

In their first public statement, the Rioli’s are joined by former Hawks Carl Peterson and Jermaine Miller-Lewis, along with Jermaine’s wife Montanah and the club’s former indigenous manager Leon Egan, in describing the investigation as a “public sh*tshow” – and one they promise will end in the Federal Court if their complaints are not heard.

The families wanted to correct misunderstandings circulating about the racism investigation, stating they never asked for money – rather they just wanted a “sit with the coaches and

“We are some of the Indigenous families who endured racism at the Hawthorn Football Club,” the joint open letter read.  “We were separated from our families.  “We were told an unborn child would ruin our futures.

In round 22 of the 2019 season, Brown kicked a career high 10 goals in a 144–58 win over Port Adelaide. Brown became the first North Melbourne player to kick double-digit goals in a game since Wayne Carey did so back in 1999
