Re-writing history is more a Howard, Abbott, Turnbull and Morrison-like caper.

One example doesn't mean it will be a success but who knows, we will see in 10 years.

, The Sydney Opera House faced significant opposition during its planning and construction, including public criticism of the design, concerns over government spending, and disagreements about its eventual use and the management of the site

One of the worst kept secret suppression orders has now been lifted. As probably most of Melbourne knew it was Tom Silvagni the rapist - son of Stephen & brother of Jack.

By the sounds of it it was dark & he pretended to be the girls boyfriend. Deserves the sentencing that will come his way. Very poor act.

The past week social media was alight with people whining he wasn't named. Due course Australia. Cookers saying stuff like rich family get away with everything, like hello its only news in first place because its a rich family & not naming him ensures fair trial, was always going to be named in due course (if guilty).

Anyway, hopefully this high profile case stops some blokes raping & gives girls confidence in the system.

Do the crime and do the time.

Unlike a bloke I played against in Under-age footy: ie Carl Ditterich who when still in his 30's allegedly plied juveniles with alcohol to get his way with them.  Case abandoned because among other issues the time elapse before charges were brought against a 79yo.

It's pretty ordinary if you need to get someone intoxicated (Lehrmann) or misrepresent yourself (Silvagni) to get your leg across ie rape a man or woman.

I read in this morning's press that Sydney Swans, AFL player Taylor Adams, has been knocked unconscious on Saturday night during an ugly incident outside a licensed premise overlooking Sydney Harbour in Rose Bay. Not unexpectedly, the Swans have strongly condemned the attack.
In his stellar AFL career Adams has played for 3 clubs over his 13 years, including a premiership with Collingwood, however, to delve a little further into his life away from football is interesting,

In April 2012, Adams was charged with assault after an altercation at a bar in Geelong which happened in the prior January. In January 2015, he was arrested and charged for being drunk in public after a fight at a Geelong bar.

Whilst his recent incident is alarming the old saying " one bitten twice shy" might ring a bell but twice bitten is of little more concern.

St Kilda gone, for another year. Knew it last week, confirmed today, same every year.

And why would you go back to Ross Lyon, a total failure?

carara stadium seats 25,000, yesty crowd was 13,000. tv crowd shots do not suggest every second seat was occupied.  looked more like 5,000.  could be counting seats sold to non attending members

Attendances down 8% from last year.

Not surprised, AFL is milking the cow dry, extending the season, ridiculous opening round no one understands, play off between 9th and 10th for the finals.

I am sick of their greed, lost interest.

You're not wrong Whale.

Unfortunately Aussie Rules is still a great product despite the AFL f***ing it as much as they can so they still get plenty of eyeballs (including mine) and the AFL are free to continue ruining it.

Sam Mitchell quizzed on 7AFL about his players US incident. Gee Sam is impressive. Can answer with such clarity. Did not love the Hawks 3peat but loved watching him player. Beautiful kick both sides of the body and great footy smarts. Is turning out to be a wonderful coach as well. Daresay may be the best coach in the league.

I was flabbergasted when a number of clubs were interested after his ordinary spell at North Melbourne. Maybe they had him mixed up with his twin brother Chris Smile

He'll be embarrassed, but in truth probably breathe a silent sigh of relief.

Board instability, departure of the Chairman, three CEO's over the last four years, poor signings, poor list, poor list management, systemic support staff problems....

The coach did a truly marvellous job at North Melbourne given his list, however at the end of the day you can't continue to make a silk purse out of a sow's ear.

Understand Voss is a great type of person, and totally committed to his job.

Just a pity he can't coach all that well.

Yeah unfortunately being tough and having heart of a lion as a player doesnt translate to coaching and tactics.

Just looked at the current scores Port Adelaide v Essendon and Scott could well be gone come Tuesday.

And if so leading to a thankless gig for some hapless stand-in and even more Club disfunction.

i took out a bombers membership this year out of pity (havent had a membership for quite a while and too old to go to footy).

definitely worst bombers team i have seen and i first went in mid 1960s.

i looked at bomberblitz website before for first game and interpolated that fans were expecting 8-10 goal defeat agst hawks which i thought was about right.  this week not surprised at result agst port (if port forwards learn to kick a bit better might worry a few good teams).

At least when Billy Stephen took over a coach in the 1970s  i could see a few green shoots.  forward to 2026 nothing there that wasnt there last year so far..

as one bomber supporter joked on bomberblitz website last week if they merged with the tigers all they need to do with the jumper is change to an orange stripe
