Sorry Bob, but here's the latest news:

MORE BOMBERS LINKED TO MOVES

Essendon’s 2018 best and fairest winner Devon Smith is reportedly “unsettled” and “not happy” at the club as he nears the end of his current contract.  Smith joined the club at the end of 2017 on a four-year deal, making an immediate impact to win the W.S. Critchton Medal as the side’s best and fairest player in 2018.

In an ominous sign for Bombers fans, SEN reporter Sam Edmund said the impending departures of Joe Daniher and Adam Saad are not the only problems facing the side.  “You’d want to make sure this is the end of the fire and I don’t think it is,” he said.

“Certainly the jungle drums are beating furiously in the sense that there’s more uncertainty at the club, more players exploring their options and more players perhaps part of this ever-increasing disgruntled group.

“I’m hearing whispers Devon Smith is one of those ... whispers around him being unsettled and not happy there. Whether that translates to him lodging a trade request is a very long bow to draw at this point, but certainly some unhappiness with him.”

Edmund also said there were whispers forward stars Anthony McDonald-Tipungwuti and Jake Stringer were among those frustrated with the club’s wayward 2020 season.

SC, I heard Hooker, Hurley & Merrett were also "not happy ".

They are gone for all money, over the next 4-5 years.

SC, you are not wrong about that, he was far too "casual" how he played at Essendon.  When Brisbane comes to play Essendon in Melbourne he will not feel that comfortable in front of what will not be a friendly crowd.

Running a Fish and Chip Shop is no easy matter .

Lots of behind the scene time consuming labour required .

    Plus a lot of digging to get worms ( free of TDS ) to catch the required number of fish.

After last night's thrashing by Geelong all the Collinwood players retreated to their change room and rang Jack Thompson's rendition of their theme song

After watching that Brownlow medal count I was perplexed that the votes are supposed to be secret and the delivery of them to the count were delivered by a security company, yet the medal was at the venue Neale was in attendance. If the winner had been at one of the other five venues would other medals been at those venues ?

Almost certainly correct TJ.

I know there have been occasions in the past when a grand final has involved a non Victorian team and they do not go to Melbourne for the Brownlow there has been a medal in their venue as well as in Melbourne

I'm almost certain Jason Akermanis and Simon Black were up in Brisbane. In fact Neale would be the 3rd Brisbane player in a row to not be in Melbourne for their win.

Voss in 96 was in Melbourne back when they were they Brisbane Bears.

In 2010 the then new Richmond CEO Brendon Gale had a vision and when he was interviewed  on Footy Classified, the targets by 2020 were:

* 3 Premierships (have won 3)

* 75,000 members (currently have 100,000+)

* Debt free (now debt free and rolling in money)

Non Richmond people laughed as they had done - laughed at Richmond for 37 years before the 2017 Premiership and they laughed at this vision by Brendon Gale. Well I wonder where all of those people are now? Whether you like Richmond or not, you do have to admire what they have achieved. The people who laughed are in complete silence..

Yess... unbelievable! I can't believe it, I am just shocked. Here is a few things to consider: This is Richmond's 13th Premiership. Back-to-back Premierships for the first time since 1973-1974 and 3 Premierships in four years. Finally, one other thing - ladies and gentlemen...once again....its TIGER TIME......YELLOW AND BLACK!!!

Would Richmond have won any if they didn't pick up Dustin Martin as pick 3 of the 2009 draft?

An honest politician is one who when he is bought will stay bought.

Brendon Gale's 2010 statement was one of the dumbest ever made, I would think that every team has aims like that.

The fact that it worked out is a 1 in 10,000 chance and a convergence of a number of factors including Dustin Martin without whom they may have won 1 premiership  and the fact that in 2016 the coach was told to change his methods, make it more a fun thing , if he had continued the way he was they would have won none.

Best team in the AFL undoubtably, can't stand them though

PS why does everyone, especially Bruce McAvaney, call him Dusty, like kids in the schoolyard trying to be friends with the top jock, pathetic
