Acadia, under that logic, horses shouldn't ever go stand in Ireland.  Look at what happened to poor Shergar.  Or for that matter, New Zealand, where a champion can't even be off the plane for two weeks without developing a life-threatening colic.

There was ONE stud farm in all of South America where horses and humans were attacked, and it was nowhere near the big farms in Argentina, Chile, and Brazil.  The distance from that farm to Santiago Chile, which is the closest major breeding area to that farm, is only 300km less than the distance from Melbourne to Perth. From that farm to the major breeding area near Sao Paulo Brazil is greater than the distance from Sydney to Perth.

It's okay to be upset because what happened in both places is deeply upsetting -- and with a second raid on the Libyan farm, that looks as personal as a mob hit -- but please don't be That Guy.

Pleased to announce Sophony has successfully had a beautiful chestnut filly by Bonn Hoffa
the stud has sent photo's but I don't know how to upload them to this platform
stud said mum and baby are doing great.
stud said although the foal is small conformation wise is faultless.
Now we are even happier as Sophony has tested 47 days PPT to Adelaide.

Funstar wins the Phar Lap, beats Probabeel and Quick Thinker.

Anyone see the  interesting common theme in the breeding?

Funstar and quick thinker very similar with stallion Sadler's over Nijinsky and dam from danehill line.

Probabeel does have Nijinsky in stallion and special who is grand dam of Sadler's but no danehill in dam.

Am I missing anything else nobody?

Yes, it was a bit simple. What was uniquely noticeable was that all three sires won the cox plate as 3yo's (Adelaide was still a NH 3yo).

Sadlers  wells over Nijinsky  seemed the logical choice for breeders
The fillies that inherited the traits of this wonderful mix could compete and be competitive at all levels.

Hello,
btw, it's the first time I see  an Australian ped with the Germanbred Sire "Birkhahn"
duplicated 5x7 via Galileo-Allegretta-Almyra-Birkhahn
and Starspangled-Slip Anchor-Sayonara-Birkhahn

that might still be not low enough ๐Ÿ˜’๐Ÿ‘Ž. Theyโ€™ve made a squillion out of him. Move him on and give another a go.

Always look forward to your posts Majestic, however would have thought he was a hard sell and served more than a few mares at discounted prices.  So the squillion might be a slight exaggeration. Wink

Even without Funstar he's hardly out of it with 11/29 this season with his oldest just 3yo's, given there was little expectation of early success.

Total of a 100 live foals from the last 3 foaling years and only covered 22 mares last season
and not listed on the Coolmore site for this year
Other than snake bite or Colic comming soon what do we think is in the future for this Cox Plate winning horse?
