Argentina have progressed to the semi finals after upsetting Wales 29-17 this morning.  They'll play the All Blacks who've just knocked off tournament favourites Ireland 28-24.

England vs Fiji and France vs South Africa tomorrow morning our time, I'm tipping France and Fiji in an upset.

It appears reports of Southern Hemisphere Rugby's demise (outside of our shores) may have been greatly exaggerated.

That ensures that the last 5 World Cups have been won only by these two sides, an impressive run of dominance especially considering the alleged rise of European rugby.  Surprising considering that run this is the first final between these two since the famous 1995 final.  Especially considering that one was only responsible for eliminating the other once in that run, being 2015 when the ABs beat the Boks in the semi final before crushing the Wallabies in the final.

2007: ABs 1/4 final loss to France, Boks win.
2011: Boks 1/4 final loss to Wallabies, ABs win.
2019: ABs lose semi to England, Boks win.

Stade De France becomes the third stadium to host a second WC final, after Eden Park and Twickenham.  This list to be added to again in 2027 when Stadium Australia joins in.

South Africa win the final, 12-11 against New Zealand, Richie Mo'unga missing a conversion of the only try of the match (from near the sideline) proving to be the difference.

Credit to the All Blacks who played the last 60 minutes a man down.

With the South African provinces having now moved full time into the European system, I guess this shows that this hasn't led to a drop in results for the national side.

South Africa now the #1 side in World Cups with 4 wins to the ABs 3 and Wallabies 2.

Jeez if that's a send off offence there would be send offs galore in rugby league.Shocked The player was falling into the tackle, as the old knuckleheads insist on saying every time something like that happens.

South Africa have only scored 2 tries in their 4 World Cup final wins, both of those coming in their 2019 final win against England.  That try was the first and only try they've conceded in a final as well.

Their finals are definitely for the purests!

South Africa could have a Rugby and Cricket world cup in their hands soon, who seriously would have placed that bet a few months ago ?

I don't think they can win the cricket world cup, they look fantastic when things go their way but they also lost to Netherlands and should have lost to Pakistan, their next two are against New Zealand and India, that'll show where they're at.

Eddie Jones quits after disastrous second stint as Wallabies coach

Eddie Jones’ disastrous second stint as Wallabies coach has come to an end.

With just two Test wins in charge and a worst-ever World Cup performance Jones and Rugby Australia have reached an agreement for him to quit, according to multiple reports.

He was signed on a five-year deal earlier this year following the sacking of Dave Rennie. more...

Once again red bandana wearing activist Peter FitzSimons has shown he should sit back and keep his thoughts to himself following the disastrous appointment of Eddie Jones's as Wallabies coach. Do you remember this?

Less than six weeks after being sacked as England coach, Jones took over the reins of the Wallabies less than nine months out from the Rugby World Cup in France yet  Peter FitzSimons, believed the Eddie Jones coaching appointment was a masterstroke.

This is the same bloke who threatened to sue Senator Jacinta Price for defamation when she complained that he had been rude and aggressive in a telephone interview. Price urged FizSimons and the Sydney Morning Herald to release the recording of the interview but they declined to do so.

Fitzsimmons does know a bit about Rugby Bob, and his club and Wallaby career crossed over Jones Wallaby career. Has also been a sports reporter for over 30 years with the SMH writing on Rugby among other things.

Has Jones lost the ability to coach or has something happened to Australian Rugby between his 2 stints as coach?

Surely the talent pool is getting smaller & smaller

When I was a young bloke the high school comp was extremely competitive. Waratah Shield was huge

Those days are pretty well dead & buried I think. Cant see it changing too much either.

Eddie is seeing what RA apparently cant see, Rugby needs to be rebuilt from the bottom up, creating an actual base and not relying on League crossovers.

In saying that though I think Jones was a massive under achiever. Over analysed the game & was instrumental in the game going backwards in this country. Have a look at what he had at his disposal

I have heard she is contemplating a change of team next year but pretty confident she wont be taking up Chookpen membership even at the wonderful value of $40/month.
