Well it's that time again.  Have earmarked a couple I'd like to buy into but they'll probably bring too much.

Here's my first comment: Gay pays $900k for Lot 78, a filly by Justify from the Gp1 winner Global Glamour.  For me it's huge money to pay for one by an unproven US-bred stallion from a female family that's extremely thin apart from the abovementioned dam.

Wouldn't be surprised if the vendor (Coolmore) ends up with a share in her, with others invited to pay overs for what's left over.

Anyway, general comment about the sale from all and sundry is very much invited.

Too many of the ones I like the pedigree of are going in the $300 - $500 range although a couple have been below $100 so failed their xrays I guess.

as good as the line for Extreme Choice SC.  You have to go back five or six generations to show anything with outstanding form.  Here you have Humour and No Finer in a similar position.  And decends from Sceptre and none better than her.  But yes an interesting pedigree.

The auctioneer kept making VROOM noises when selling the Justify #229, and every time he went VROOM the colt started bucking and trying to drag its handler.

$260,000 and I would bet a fancy latte that he loses the crown jewels before he makes it to the races with that attitude.

#237 - full sibling to Noverre (Savabeel/Magic Dancer) sold for $950K, and he was doing haute ecole airs above the ground most of the time.

Kind of like my cat -- he had an epic poo as soon as he got into the ring, and then if he hadn't had some primate holding onto a thing in his mouth he would have gone hooning around the venue with the zoom zooms.  :D

Tried to get 5% of Lot 295 about 4 minutes after she was knocked down but despite getting on well with the Maher office ladies was still too late!  Thought her page was better than the other Real Steel colt that Ciaron paid $200k for.

Lot 372 by Written Tycoon from a winner of only one country race from 30 starts and whose 3 and 2yo's are yet to race.

Second dam won 1 from 12 and from 6 foals to race has produced just one country winner, albeit a stakes place-getter.

All told one single winner in the first two removes.

And brings $550k.  Confused

Jamie Richards trains the 2yo.

Who trains the 3yo ? The 3yo is listed as transferred. Might be wise to blackbook it.

Carioca would be proud of the colt.  Pretty sure Miss Admiration was one of his picks out of the sales for the TBV comp.  $1,700K for the foal.

Still up here & worked through the lots.

A lot of nice sale types....muscly, prepped to within an inch.  Good cosmetics.

Bit I still dont get is the high fives when someone pays something like $1.6m for a lot.  Wouldn't you be high fiving if you paid like $120k?

At a quick glance perhaps a bit upright in the pasterns but otherwise a pretty good type.

Just knocked back a small share in Lot 426, thought he walked short behind.

Nice enough, will need a fair bit of time (late 3yo/4yo).

Not overly athletic.  Will need all of 2400m.

Worth a play if u can get it cheaply enough.

Cheers Whitto, and entirely agree.  Kept my comment brief and you've appropriately added to it.

The "time" aspect is important because she's arguably more a NH type and hopefully not soft boned with it.
