Absolutely great to see him have a Diamond prospect, and congrats to Soothsayer etc for effectively marketing him.

Was always a doubter, however word of mouth suggests otherwise and BOL to all concerned as owners or breeders.

It's hard to soar with eagles...

Thanks Runfer, very nice of you to say that Smile

It's very early days so we're not getting too carried away but he's started well which is good.

I hope he can reward the breeders and buyers that have supported him and given him a chance.

Yes Don, all we need is a name - then I can (perhaps) look it up on pedigreequery.com (under WT's progeny there's 2008 horses and their dams, but no recent indications of winners per se). As you frequently say, Nod, "all horses have MUMSThumbs Up

btw, it is interesting to go back through Written Tycoon's damline....... 6th dam is STRETTO (b y Hunting Song) who was a very good 2/3yo plus older racemare both here in NZ and over in OZ......... 7th dam The Begum left not only Stretto , but three other excellent gallopers (all by Bulandshar) incl champion HIGH CASTE (multitude of Grp wins in Australia) plus  Nizam & Nawab.

After finding the competition far too hot in Sydney, the impressive looking Trump found midweek at Doomben more his speed and chalked up a win for Written Tycoon this afternoon.

Masthead ran a fine race. I really did not like the look of him parading. Not overly big and a small backside on him. Nothing like the sire.
Now having passed 1000 posts I feel you are all so much the wiser for my having said... stuff!

Got his 5th winner today from just 9 to race with Prestigious Miss winning in New Zealand. Also had 2 narrow seconds so his strike rate could easily have been 7 winners from 9 to race.

Hopefully Victorian breeders will keep supporting him and be rewarded.

Our mare just had a cracker of filly to Written Tycoon. If the match is right I'd recommend anyone send their mare to this guy.

2 more stakes place getters in the last week taking his tally to 5 individual stakes placed horses with his oldest progeny spring 3yo's. Still waiting to break through for his initial stakes winner but hopefully not far off.

WT is tracking better than a host of proven stallions at the same time of their careers and from pretty low fees in his first couple of years.

Hopefully he keeps this up, could be a seriously good stallion.

Many thanks Ted, it was a real thrill, particularly to be a part owner and to have selected him.
