Why is he still getting rides after he profited from the Lil Ceasar(Lucky Year)saga? Waller, the clean skin was lucky he came thru that unscathed. A quick google search reveals Liam Prior was welcomed back to the stable in a pencil pushing position. Nothing ever changes.

Horrendous. Had 3 opportunities to come to the outside and refused to do it. It's either severe incompetence in riding or fixing. What a joke of a ride.

hd should get 6 months. Was he even questioned fiddlesticks?

a 4kg claimer on their 1st ride in the bush would not dish up that.

Did he have to waste hard......if its not a brain fade - I will leave that up to the stewards.

Walller is pretty tight with Glynn/Liam etc.

Glyn is not an incompetent rider. Please don't use that as an excuse. This was a calculated hook. He must have got nervous 50 out when leader stopped so quickly. Was not the plan to win.
There is no excuse for him not going around them at the 600. None.

Stewards:
Up 'N' Rolling – an inquiry was opened into G Schofield's riding of Up 'N' Rolling with particular reference to the final 600m of the race. After taking evidence from G Schofield and stable representative Mr C Duckworth, the matter was adjourned to a date to be fixed.

If it was a tactical decision not to come to the outside then he must have been fighting every instinct anyone who has watched racing, let alone ridden must have had. I wonder what he said to stewards. That's a straight up hook.

Schofield was impeded about the 250-metre mark by apprentice Andrew Adkins, who
received a five-day suspension for not preventing Red Knot from shifting
out, but the stewards queried his call to take a route that left Up ‘n’
Rolling hampered in the first place.

Racing NSW deputy chief steward Philip Dingwall also asked Schofield why he did not use the whip as the winning post loomed.
“The whip was stuck and he was lengthening pretty quickly for me anyway,”
Schofield said, adding he tried several times to free the whip.
“I was trying to get it out, but it doesn’t come out.”
Dingwall said he was surprised a jockey of Schofield’s experience was unable to untangle the whip from the reins.

“The whole world will be asking the same question,” he said.

“I don’t see you using a lot of force to remove the whip from wherever
it’s entangled. You say you are and we’ll have to consider that.”

A date for the resumption of the inquiry is yet to be determined.

The same Stewards will not uphold or even enquire into whether a jockey using too many strokes of the whip affected the result.

Clearly the horse did not require whipping. ALL the damage was done well before the 200m mark.

I was very close to backing it as I've always liked the horse but slightly wary of the Canterbury track so ended up just watching with interest.  Talk about dodging a bullet.

I'm struggling to think of a worse ride I've ever seen short of the miscounted lap situations or when jockeys have later been found to deliberately have pulled one.  I can't think a legitimate ride as bad as that on a horse who should so clearly have won.

It's not like he had bad luck, the horse just needed to be pulled out wider but he didn't until the race was over.  It's rare I'd immediately think a jockey wasn't actually trying to win but that was the first thought after the race.

It's a very serious issue as it shows intent.

This is a hobby horse for Djebel, ignore him, he thinks Octagonal would have been the same horse without the whip.

Get a grip of yourself and watch the race. The whip was at no stage required for the horse to show its competitive spirit.

As for Octagonal, If there was no whipping at all he'd have been racing under the same rules as every other horse he competed against.

Djebel, it adds further to the case that he did not give the horse every chance and talks to intention. You're right, the horse looked as though it was doing everything it could under hands and heels. But the question should still be asked: given what has just transpired and the post is looming, why are you not using your whip to make absolutely certain? He says it was stuck and he tried to untangle it. Which suggests it was worth asking the question.

Sneck is right, It is a hobby horses of mine.

If Stewards and or anybody else believes the whip played any role in the outcome of that race than they have to, by default, agree that Stewards should be taking races off horses  ( Jockeys ) who cheat by using it too much.

To me, the whip or lack of, has absolutely no bearing on the result of todays race.

Glyn must have onsold horses to HK owned by some very influential Australian people, as he keeps getting off on all manners of unacceptable conduct. He's a crook and needs to be moved on from our racing.

White Hot. That's a big holiday for either hooking it or sheer incompetence.

What was the horse Schofield led on of O'Sheas / Champion Thoroughbreds by 5 lengths running the first 1000m in 56 and change? He got time over the ride.
