He kicked out in the tie-up and got one of his legs stuck. Taken some skin off, will get him back to Ballarat and will be checked out by the stable vets.

Rider said he was too busy focusing on the fillies in the barriers and got distracted.
Time for the snip....

Thanks djebel. We have some concerns with the wide barrier, will wait and see how the track is playing before we decide on tactics. Hoping he can run Top 4 though.

Before you guys are talked into gelding this beautiful beast get a better jockey on board for a 15th opinion.

He pinged him out and than strangled him. Terrible ride really.

Thrilled with the result today, 2nd placing in town and $50k in prizemoney.
Super result!

P.S We won't be gelding him at this stage.
Won't be sacking Yendall either, he turned down the ride of Big Duke so he could stay aboard our fella.

That will be the race that gives them an excuse to geld him.

Just give him to a better trainer.

I could not fault the ride.  I will wait to see what Ralphy says though LOL

Are horses struggling to lead there today, I have only watched 2 races and both leaders got swamped after not hard runs.

Agree, nothing wrong with the ride, esp as being on pace hasn't been a disadvantage today. TB had an off day for whatever reason. His form was FAR superior going into today.

Thank you for your concerns. I'm not on course and haven't spoken to the other owners and syndicator/stable yet.

Will update further when I know more

Racing.com just interviewed the Beau Mertens. They also showed him knuckling on getting into stride coming out of the gates.
