Maybe Malcolm could offer him asylum in Armidale. I hear rents are very cheap there if you are on the run and you have friends.

macca - i dont think trumble will be advising trump about anything. He may try to persuade him to come on board again with the trade deal.
And we punch way above our weight if you compare our gdp against Russia. Bozo the potus should show some respect, but that would require something he doesnt have - decency!

Putin, Xi, Trump, and Turnstyle have one thing in common. None are photogenic with their shirts off. Other than that, no common ground on the horizon.

Arent you just a teeny bit curious as to why the Russians were so keen to have your Donald in the White House? Why did they apparently want him more than Hillary? The catchcry in the Watergate investigation was " follow the money" and it very much applies to this as well . Nice clean heavily laundered money in Trumps case. The fact that his business was in negotiations with some very shady characters re a Trump building in Moscow AFTER he was running for president should be very alarming . If I were an American Id be concerned that these people think they own Trump. I'd welcome an investigation.

'A sub-par TED talk': Why Hillary Clinton's tour is a rip-off

In the wake of a cataclysmic loss to Donald Trump, Hillary Clinton has remained a central figure in the Resistance era of American electoral politics. Even now, one year into Trump's presidency, the ringing anthem of his Democratic critics has been “Still With Her”.

It's then no surprise to learn that Hillary Clinton's book What Happened - a personal recollection, documenting her experience as the first female presidential candidate nominated by a major US political party - has been devoured by her fans, making it one of Amazon's best sellers of 2017Hillary Clinton's book tour is now scheduled to make waves here in Australia in May, and for a whopping $195 you'll be able to have “an evening with Hillary Rodham Clinton” in balcony seating, and this, mind you, doesn't include a copy of her book. For that you'll have to fork over $495 for a VIP ticket that comes with access to a pre-show party.

Before the general election, polling conducted by the Lowy Instituterevealed that Donald Trump was an unfavourable candidate among Australians, with just 11 per cent preferring him over Hillary Clinton as the next President of the United States.

On the other hand “84 per cent [of Australians] thought Clinton would do a better job than Trump of handling US foreign policy.”

The Growth Faculty, which is facilitating her speaking engagements in both Australia and New Zealand, has an abbreviated profile on Secretary Clinton, boasting of her critical role in imposing “crippling sanctions on Iran” - sanctions which have impacted access to pharmaceutical productsmedical equipment, spurred rising food costs, and plane crashes, as those economic sanctions prevented Iran from purchasing necessary parts for ageing fleets. In Honduras, while acting as Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton helped facilitate a violent chapter in Honduran history, mired by catastrophic violence, including the targeting of local activists. In 2016, Bertha Oliva, who in 1981 founded the Committee for the Relatives of the Disappeared in Honduras, was quoted by The Intercept as saying “Now, it’s like going back to the past. We know there are death squads in Honduras.”

Despite this chilling reality, Clinton's biography is glamourised, and in a follow-up sentence from this over-inflated sales pitch, Clinton is referred to as a defender of “universal values [who has] pushed the frontiers of human rights.” Yes, for a meagre $195 you too can sit in the nosebleeds, and have an unashamedly hawkish former US politician explain how she managed to lose to an enthusiastically bigoted and misogynist reality television star.

The allure of Hillary Clinton, and what made her campaign so moving for countless women across the US, was the possibility of watching her break the glass ceiling. Far from subtle, Clinton's election night venue was even held under an enormous glass ceiling at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Centre in Manhattan.

Despite the best marketing efforts, no metaphorical ceiling was broken, and as a result Clinton's loss was devastating, especially to women who had invested so much of their political identities in a foreseen election landslide in her favour.

Hillary Clinton, who is undoubtedly the most prominent icon of imperial feminism in recent history, will touch down in Australia to a throng of enthusiastic women who refuse to acknowledge the victims of her foreign and domestic policies, many of whom are of the same gender. What Australians find particularly mesmerising about Hillary Clinton is arguable, though it's certainly a mix of politics and personal taste. But beyond the glow of bureaucratic celebrity it's quite plain to see that Clinton's offerings, especially when it comes to post-Trump insights, are few and far between.

Her profitable book tours are often marketed as providing audience members with seductive, insider secrets from an insular domain that's closed off to much of the world, but there's nothing that can be gleaned from an hour with Hillary Clinton in a Sydney arena that one can't find in her policies.

In What Happened readers were left with her misery and self-righteous indignation - there is little reflection in the way of parsing her own failures; her fragility and emotional candour are characterised by her persistent supporters as revealing her humanity instead of self-pitying blame shifting.

For Australians still interested in learning more about Clinton's campaign mishaps, they're better off visiting a local library, or spending a little more than $35 on a copy of What Happened, instead of paying hundreds of dollars for a sub-par TED talk in order to possibly hobnob with  Clinton. Salesman Elmer Wheeler coined the saying that “you don't sell the steak, you sell the sizzle”, but in the case of Hillary Clinton's Australia tour you're getting little steak and a lot less sizzle.

The answer is old news and has been covered on this thread many pages ago. The Russians didn't care who won as long as Clinton lost. She'd messed with their business as secretary of state and Putin wasn't going to let it slide.

Watch the progress around the charging of the little known Dutch lawyer yesterday. The significance of that hasn't been realized yet, involving the Ukraine revolt and the puppet President fleeing to Russia a couple of years ago. Mr Manafort managed him for about 8 years.

More obstruction will come of it involving that law firm and Manafort, as well as the obvious money laundering charges against him. He is in huge trouble and under extreme pressure to wait for Trump to pardon him or go down as well for 15 years

Au contraire. Putin is far smarter than Trump and has a far greater appreciation of his nation's history but both are oligarchists and pocket-liners while attempting to portray themselves as men of the people.

Question which some might be pondering (obviously not the fwitted George Christensen). Is it purely coincidental that the USA has had three mass murders in the short time Trump has been in power?

And why hasn't Trump claimed them as his responsibility on Twitter? Everything "good" is apparently simply because of the sun shining from his narcissist @rse, although the recent stock market correction made a mockery of that even to the dullist wit.

Actually there were fewer mass shootings in America in 2017 compared to 2016. 384 to 346

Id have no problems believing the Russians election meddling was more anti Clinton than pro Trump if it wasn't for the Trump organisation's activities with the Mammadov family in Azerbaijani and the highly suspect Trump Tower there. Plus they'd been negotiating for years to get a Trump Tower in Moscow involving some equally suspect people. As my old grandma used to say you lay down with dogs you get up with fleas.

Mr Mueller is interviewing Sam Nunberg this week no doubt to discuss that trip to Moscow with Trump in 2013.

Trump's bodyguard/minder Keith Schiller testified to Congress that while Trump was approached with offers of prostitutes at the Ritz Moscow, he said he refused them.

He might have been telling fibs though and Mr Mueller is going to get the right story from Nunberg who was also there.

Keith surprisingly left Trump's employ shortly after that interview after a couple of decades of working for him. Today it was reported he is in a GOP safe house on $15k a month for doing nothing but keeping his mouth shut.

Mass shootings V mass murder? Moot point if you're American. Trump would have pointed the finger at Obama in such circumstances.

When do the new figs on the presidential costs come out? Last time he was $millions ahead of Obama and on track to spend more in one period than Obama did in both.

Im surprised there isn't a Donald Trunk twitter account which picks up his quotes and throws them back in his face.

Those estimates are a bit sketchy apparently. There is no official accounting of costs but the Government Accountability Office costs individual trips but without splitting official and recreational trips, and including VP costs, so there isn't an official total as such anywhere. Private watchdog groups use such available bits of information and try to extrapolate and collate totals. They also use figures like security service budgets to try and put together totals, but it is highly speculative and fact rating services wont commit to true or false to who spent more yet

"The Republican-controlled House on Thursday took its first steps toward strengthening gun ownership under President Donald Trump, moving to scrap a requirement for background checks for disabled Social Security recipients mentally incapable of managing their own affairs.

The regulation, issued in the final months of President Barack Obama's term, is one of a handful congressional Republicans are rolling back, knowing they habe a new ally in the White House. The Senate is poised to scuttle an Obama rule preventing coal mining debris from being dumped into nearby streams."Wacko

"President Donald Trump quietly signed a bill into law Tuesday rolling back an Obama-era regulation that made it harder for people with mental illnesses to purchase a gun.

The rule, which was finalized in December, added people receiving Social Security checks for mental illnesses and people deemed unfit to handle their own financial affairs to the national background check database." Clap

"President Donald Trump is calling for a focus on mental health and school safety in response to shootings like the one that took 17 lives in Florida, but his budget would cut funding in both areas.

Trump's latest budget would slash the major source of public funds for mental health treatment, the Medicaid program serving more than 70 million low-income and disabled people. The budget also calls for a 36 percent cut to an Education Department grant program that supports safer schools, reducing it by $25 million from the current level of $67.5 million."Clap
