Good news for the long suffering people of Hungary!!!
Voters in Budapest and other Hungarian cities handed a stinging defeat on Sunday to the country’s populist leader, Prime Minister Viktor Orban, and his political machine, sending a wave of opposition candidates to victory in local elections.
Overcoming the governing party’s nearly complete domination of the news media and the state, opposition candidates won control in 11 of Hungary’s 23 larger cities, including the capital, Budapest, compared with three in municipal elections five years ago. They also put another dent in what had seemed a few years ago to be the inexorable march in parts of Europe toward Mr. Orban’s “illiberal” and harshly anti-immigrant politics. Divided and floundering after nine years under Mr. Orban, the opposition candidates had for years struggled to compete in local, national and European Parliament elections. They were not helped by new election laws that favored the governing Fidesz party. That changed on Sunday in a vote dominated by competing sex tapes, corruption accusations and doomsday threats of migrants. In a departure from past practices, independent candidates and the leading opposition parties agreed to unite behind one candidate in most towns and cities, successfully fighting the divide-and-conquer tactics of Fidesz. |

You got that right PT! The cracks in the Republican resolve are getting wider every day. What are the odds the orange marvel will resign? With some sort of deal to stay out of jail? This would be the best thing for the country but I’ve always had the horrible feeling that Trump will want to take the whole lot down with him. Which would be very bad.

I can't see him resigning Baguette, admitting defeat or even that you were wrong about anything no matter how minor is not in his make-up. Just one of the things his mentor Roy Cohn drilled into him. Resignation with a deal is no good for him anyway, as his biggest criminal exposure is in the dozen or so criminal investigations going on in State jurisdictions that he faces after he leaves office, something he cant be pardoned on by himself or a successor. He is trapped and his only way out is to get re-elected and run out time on criminal statutes. This is why he, Rudy, Sondiland, Mulvaney. Pompeo and others are involved in these criminal conspiracies shaking down world leaders(including Australia) to get dirt to discredit Biden, who he believes will be the Democratic nominee.

People close to Giuliani are advising him to hire a criminal lawyer as questions linger about his connections to two of his indicted associates. Giuliani has been resisting that advice Ex-Rep. It also restricted the export of US products to 28 Chinese Government and business entities identified as playing a role in "brutal suppression" of Muslims in China. |
