Warner is becoming a bunny of sorts. With Smith being forced to remove himself from the match with a sub Marnus and the prospects of missing the next Test at Leeds this OZ team will be really *Tested* ....

Australia's openers now average 7.75 in the series - that's their lowest in any series in 100 years, and their second-lowest ever in series of two or more matches.

Bancroft gone, Harris in, not convinced on Wade he should be replaced by Labuschagne and Warner survives just because we don’t have another opener.

Labuschagne should be replacing Smith who, if concussion rules are consistent cant play for a week after his turn in health. Wade's ton in the First Test will probably save him. If Smith is out I doubt they will want too many other changes anyway. Bancroft must go though, he looks out of his depth on those pitches.
Only the best people.

Yes I agree , Smith too valuable to risk let him sit the next one out for insurance .

Warner is going terrible - can't find a run and couldn't catch a cold.Ouch
In reference to every post in the Trump thread ... "There may have been a tiny bit of license taken there" ... Ok, Thanks for the "heads up" PT!

Maybe Warner just needs to behave like an enraged, feral little pr1ck to produce his best. Trying to be Mr Nice Guy doesn’t seem to be working. Maybe they should let him revert to type in the hope of a form reversal...at which point he’ll probably just get suspended again. Suits me.

The Pommy press are attempting to make the most of Australia'a performance at the Lord's Test, this was published in one tabloid overnight. Everything can be considered positive for England

Jonny Bairstow's slog-sweep off Nathan Lyon into the Mound Stand shortly before Joe Root’s declaration was the 214th time Australia’s off-spinner has been hit for six in Test cricket – a new record.

England’s declaration on 258 for five meant that for the first time in 1,013 Tests they have made the same score in both innings.

Ben Stokes’s unbeaten 115 was only the fourth Ashes hundred made by an England batsman at Lord’s since David Gower in 1989.

Since then, Andrew Strauss hit 161 in 2009, Ian Bell 109 in 2013 and Joe Root 180, also in 2013 as an opener.

David Warner has now made four single-figure scores in a row, equalling his worst sequence in Test cricket.

In 2013, he made two, nought and eight against India in Mohali and Delhi, then – after in his comeback Test after serving a ban for throwing a punch at Joe Root – he scored five at Old Trafford.

The dismissal of Cameron Bancroft for 16 means Australia’s openers are averaging 7.75 in this Ashes. Only once before in a series of at least two matches have they produced a worse return, averaging 7.41 during the 1888 Ashes.
