turn it up tooth. Taj said the following

"All Silent is the Ace Tip but take best tote late. We will be backing him, Neroli, Vision & Power and King Mufhasa. Whobe if he was available at $14 only.
We will also focus these around the trifectas/4s etc for value"

Alot of people on here picked the winner in first four

He got the winner in 5 or was that in 3? With All SIlent his main pick to win. Happy to pay it, but the only way the likes of Tooth could posible back the winner is having something on all 5 Taj tips!

Still reckon Taj, you should limit the tips to a max of three in the big races and even to one or two picks in the smaller races. Unless you're tipping genuine roughies as speculators.

SOem nice winners by my blog if you were positive enough to take a look - http://winningpedigrees.wordpress.com/

Well he's had the winner at 12/1 or so, so weighted bets for a given result probably represents a 5 or 6/1 winner.  Plus for an all-ways $60 he gets the trifecta which paid $2,200.

If you aren't happy with that you're very hard to please.

Whobegotyou will have his work cut out but is all class but limited value $14
How'd he get the trifecta? At best he rated the winner at #3.

Other races we had Fravashi rated $5 no value, Manhattan Rain $2.45, Yallingup $3.50, but missed the last

C'mon and as he mentioned nearly every runner initially, then posted his final ratings, which consisted of 5. He rated Vision And Power as his 3rd best...just like reading sportsman, for everyone that found Vision And Power, someone else found All Silent, Neroli etc. If you'd followed every half rated chance the past week...you'd have backed nearly every runner in the field.

The V12 blog!LOL
We made our very early preview about V&P as such :
"
VISION AND POWER
The pumper is in form and so is the carnegie horse. 2005/6 years were some indicator of talent, but then really just became a Welter/Hcp 56 rating beast. Now has a 66Kg base and can rate 67 here on all surfaces. It doesn't need to be wet! Strike rate is 57% so just forget that other horse he once was and you will find some value here. If he hits the front he'll be hard to stop with 51.5. Rates at 68Kg and is value currently."

and then final rating of $5.00
For us it doesn't matter whether the horse is first pick or 8th, it is the price and value that count. We backed him heavily as if he was a 4/1 chance and cleaned up on all totes. We also backed All Silent as if he was 5/2 and KM 10/1 and Neroli as  3/1 for an $8K outlay.
Profit was $14K
We lost 5% of our outlay on trifectas, finishing 1st and 3rd.
Brooke wanted us to post our bets so we did.

QUOTE=Tajrossi]

THESEO

57Kg but that wont worryhim at all. Horse has peaked at 68Kg rating and can't reproduce that over a mile now after 5 tough runs so rate at 67. Rawiller rides a treat but not sure I like his run from barrier 2. 30%strike rate at Randwick but best is 1800-2200. Slow going okay. Race rating of around 60Kg so no value

ALAMOSA

56.5 High rating 4yo can go from his 68 rating to 70Kg if track no worse than dead. Newitt to ride but barrier 18 no help. 40% strike rate and might find Randwick a challenge. 63% at the mile though and gets through the big fields with ease. Rate at 62.5 No Value

KING MUFASA

55 4yo Pentire making steady improve with racing and has a strong base of 64Kg ratings so can go to 66.5 here. 50% strike rate so is just a winner! Spratt has 60% on him but unraced at Randwick. 50% at the mile and a Pentire so should be strong enough. Barrier ok and slow ok. 62.5 - No Value

TRIPLE HONOUR

55 Barrier one doesn't look the best. 4yo with 2 64Kg runs so can go to 67Kg. Bowman goes on board whilst Brown stays with Solo Flyer. Strong Randwick horse but despite bredding a ? at a tough mile. Needs it wet. 61 rating for the race. No

ALL SILENT

54.5 not suited by the heavy but can rate 70.5 if good to dead. Oliver to steer so negates the 16 barrier a little. 0/4 at randwick but excuses and Oliver different to Wells. Strong in heavy after 1500 so mile should be ok. Slow ok and 68 rating for the race. Price currently correct at around $5..00

WHOBEGOTYOU

54.5 drawn 19 but will come from behind out wide anyway but not sure he can outsprint these late. Not a heavy track horse he can go from his 64 rating to 67 now. Not run at Randwick but the distance and pressure of the race is perfect if dead to slow. Rodd will ride him well and he does have a 45% strike rate. Rates at 64Kg and a winning chance but is no value.

HOT DANISH
54 5yo mare. Can she run the trip? 65 rater but a winner and hard to assess. Has a nice draw so will look the winner at some stage.4/6 at Randwick and Clark rides well. 67% win rate!! Slow ok but rate here at 62Kg and no value

SIR SLICK
53.5 7yo in good form with a 65 base and could register 66. A pure miler, ? jockey. Poor draw. Rates at 60.5 for the race. No

SOLO FLYER
52.5 Brown stays on and 4th up can go from 65 to a 67 rating. 3/3 this year and out of a Sir Tristram mare so a tough 1600 ok. ???Slow going?? Rates at 66.5 on the dead so might be punting value if you think it wont be slow. Consider.

Rates at 68Kg and is value currently.

NEROLI
51.5 62 rating mare who can go to 65.5. A 58% strike rate and McEvoy has 75% on her. Won at Randwick and distance ok. Nice draw for a good run and slow going ok. Rates at 66.5 and a chance. Current slight value

GALLANT TESS
51.5 not racing well enough with a peak of 63 this time in and unlikely to repeat that here. 33% at Randwick and mile ok. Slow ok as well. ? jockey. Rates at 59.5. No

LARGO LAD
51.5 4yo Giraffe yet to reproduce peak of Yalumba run of 64Kg but with age /maturity can rate 67. Glen Boss is in fine form again but he might get lost at randwick with the inside draw. Slow ok. Rate at 63Kg. No value

PINNACLES
51.5 He rated 64 last year in the Doncaster so he can rate 66.5 here with age improvement. He jumped from a 58 base to 64 last year and this year he has a base of 63Kg so look out for a potential 68 rating here to go very close. Munce to ride only helps in this big race. Form a little hidden so will be value. Rates at 68.5 and very good value runner

BLACK PIRANHA
5yo improver has a good base of 65 but hard to see him improvinf off the Ryder heavy track run. Angland rides him well but ? 1600. 59. No

CHINCHILLA ROSE
51.5 4yo mare interesting form as ran a nice 62.5 in the Millie Fox so can run a 65 here. ? jockey and ? 1600. 57Kg . No

MUSKET
51.5 Redoutes/Tugela is a good horse rating 62 last Autumn and Spring and can go to 65. 50% at randwick, mile is perfect now and slow going ok. 31% strike rate is sound and rates 65Kg for the race and looks current value

RHYNO CHASER
Would seem poorly weighted under these limits. 57Kg. No
[/QUOTE]

Pleeease you had PINNACLES as your top rater of 68.5 and very good value runner, yet he was nowhere to be seen in your "final saturday" ratings. So what importance do we put on the Vision And Power midweek rating??? Fair enough you had Vision And Power as your final 3rd pick - no problems with that, but claiming winners whether it is 8th pick, no wonder others have had a go at you well before me!

You LOL at the V12 Blog, at least it's pretty easy to know it's opinion of what'll win the race and today was a very good day!

tiger im sure if you have a closer look he only rated 5 horses in the doncaster and he says he has a 90% that one of the 5 would win and he was right.

the first thing he posted was just a preview so take it easy or do it yourself and we can all then take the piss out of you

Ace Tip might be due soon, or it might be another 10 losses, who knows!
Our top rated selections won 44% of races this weekend, and we know with an average 4.1 selections we win 90% of Group rated handicaps which are often big fields. Neroli and Whobegotyou were very unlucky, but I thought All Silent was off his game despite being in the wrong spot on the day. Vision & Power ran as we expected.
Important to also realize we had Theseo, Hot Danish, Solo Flyer, Largo Lad, Musket etc no chance.

Disagree with you there Taj. You rated Musket good value and ADVISED people to take the odds on offer. But you then say you didn't rate him and he was no chance!

Now come one, I know what your ratings stand for etc and you do a good job, I enjoy reading some of your assessments. But I also said i was going to back 4, Pinni, V&P, Musket, and All Silent. Yes i got the winner too but i still failed, happy to admit that. I didn't need you to tell me what to back, and i always make up my own mind.
But i've gotta say that in the 24hrs before the race you had entertained 6 or 7 horses saying they were all value and you would back them. That included Musket!

Please elaborate
