Freakish performance. If what Dunn said is too be believed and he had jockeys bashing him in the run, that's just enormous.

I'd run him in the Cox Plate. Only gets one chance with the light weight. Would probably be only his 4th run after this freshen up.

Special horse.

If it's against the rules for a jockey to have an interest in a horse, how is it any different having the wife in one?

Or an apprentice's mum/dad?

Or a dual license jockey/trainer riding for a parent who is owner/trainer?

Another 100m and he wins by three Must be tempting to go straight into the Guineas. And then, of all the top 3yos in recent years, he looks like a Cox Plate type, even though he's probably picked a bad year.

After the Guineas could he target the Victoria Derby? I see good odds are still on offer there.

I would avoid the Cox Plate/Winx. I remember another outstanding 3 year old - Gods Own trying to go with Makybe Diva from the 800 metre mark & it broke him - never the same.

Very good or great 3 year olds can win the Cox Plate but not up against a freakish older horse IMHO.

He's a colt, which usually means no chance. Although he is by an unfashionable sire, he looks an outstanding racing prospect and could finish up with a haul of G1s which will still make him as a commercial stallion, and they won't want to hurt that by showing everyone he can stay.

I also think the Victoria Derby can ruin horses as you said, and you'd only target the race if it was your horse's best chance of winning a nice race, as opposed to a horse who has an autumn of G1s over a mile in the autumn ahead of them.

Why would staying ability damage his potential as a stallion? Australia needs a new influx of stallions that have an ability to stay.

VRC Derby looks a great longer range target to me after he cleans up in The Guineas.

I agree Rancher. That was the best field he had race against, by far and he was found wanting.

I can guarantee you one thing. They will not be riding him from behind in the Guineas, no way no how, push forward and run them along!

Last run in Sydney was quite good Shrunk in the Wash, they bet 33s during the week must have give him some hope to take him down, if he draws an ally in the big one he's a definite chance imo.

Track was rather firm and this guy looking for longer.
I see Dunn said 'a small gear change next start' .
