You are a racist primarily because of what you do and say... your attitudes, less so what you buy and sell in a global society.

Not to say awareness of how and where you buy is not a good thing to think about. Not much negative intent in people buying foreign goods. More intent in overtly racist ''send her back'' and ''build that wall'' to keep the ''them'' out.

that is more to do with globalisation. And that has made some insanely rich, at the expense of many. Nothing to do with racism.

You didnt expect no response did you whale?

China is the first to pull the racist card.

Is the imperialist west racist towards China? This excuse is just wearing thin. China will have to find another excuse but thankfully the world is waking to their tactics.

Racism

Description

Racism is the belief in the superiority of one race over another. It may also include prejudice, discrimination, or antagonism directed against other people because they are of a different race or ethnicity, or the belief that members of different races or ethnicities should be treated differently. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Racism" rel="nofollow - Wikipedia

This is of the two main forms: (1) how they will crush the imperialists by economic means; (2) how 'great and bountiful' China was about to (become) in the next 12 years and pass the imperialists in production."

So far racism is bad and anti-racism is good.

When you cant argue that anti racism from liberals is bad, you have to discredit the racism argument or project racism onto anti-racists.

Trumpism is doing it's best to turn it around that anti-racism is the thing that is bad. It isn't going so well so far, but this thread shows they haven't given up yet. Thumbs Up

Simmons sisters pathetic response does nothing but cause more trouble and drag the small amount of racists out.
Her comments are pure racism

“Yet again another white man discrediting a black man’s experience. I would say walk a mile in his shoes but your teeny tiny feet wouldn’t fit into his shoes.
“I’m tired of old white Australian men saying things aren’t racist when they are. You don’t know what it feels like to be the only person to have (your) bag checked when leaving a store or being denied entry for the colour of your skin. This country needs a serious change.
“This is an amazing country and I love it here but they forget about the genocide they committed and wiped out most of the indigenous people. They think they’re the only people to live here. When in actuality our indigenous people suffer everyday from what happened.”

What are the facts on Simmons?

1 Did he fail to produce ID when he was denied entry?

2 Was his white friend allowed entry without ID?

3 Or, was it a simple case of produce ID and you are in, applied equally?

Moreso his sister but that led to accusations of Simmons; privilege. Not sure what that had to do with anything other than having a go at him

But Steve Price says she’s hardly in a place to throw stones.

“That’s a little rich coming from the sister of a bloke who just signed a $200 million plus contract.

“You think that people like me and Peter Ford come from white privilege. I don’t, I come from a working-class background.

“Your brother was paid $50,000 for one week in Melbourne to promote Melbourne on Twitter.

“He’s been driving around town in an $800,000 car, and was flown by helicopter the other day to the Yarra Valley. Enough said.”

Steve Price says she can add him to her list of white men who don’t believe Australia is racist.

“Sure, there are racists in Australia… but is Australia, in my view, fundamentally racist? I don’t think it is.”

As you said PT. You havent been up on the issue. Price is spot on in exposing her hypocrisy

Her response to people questioning her brother was the crap she quoted earlier and then she doubled down on the reporter by saying.

"The stench of your privilege & serious lack of knowledge when it comes to the commitments this young man has & the impact he has in his community is genuinely flabbergasting."

But Steve Price says she’s hardly in a place to throw stones.

“That’s a little rich coming from the sister of a bloke who just signed a $200 million plus contract.

“You think that people like me and Peter Ford come from white privilege. I don’t, I come from a working-class background.

But what does any of that have to do with her brother and what he earns as arguably the best in the world at what he does? Is Ben claiming some privilege?

Well must say I am disappointed in Simmons. Didn’t know much about him other than he was a great basketball talent. Not sure what the motivation behind all the basketball camps was - surely not money. If not then it would have been about giving a bit back to the game over here maybe - if so it seems it hasn’t been all that successful. And then he pulls out of the Australian team after previously committing to it. Seems like he couldn’t care less what impression he leaves - which is his prerogative of course. Just unfortunate from my viewpoint

His "white" mate looked over 25 so he wasn't asked for ID. He was refused entry - but then went to another entry point and was granted entry.

Just a typical entitled victim who doesn't want to play by everyone else's rules ... suffers the same kind of racism as Adam Goodes, Serena Williams, Kaepernick, etc, etc.

Good on Simmons for achieving his multi million dollar contract, great story.
The problem is he very quickly lost touch with reality and has become an entitled, privileged unbelievably rich spoilt sports star.

that was super fast, how old is he ? Shocked

Just a Sky beat-up. Why do you think they are trying to undermine Basketball Australia?

Yes PT, you've got this massively wrong.

Especially as you confessed to not really knowing about it yet you still seem to want to rally a defenseLOL

Simmons could not  have done more to alienate his support in the general community because of his racism rant .Obviously has tickets on himself because he plays basketball.
I will not be buying any of his endorsed basketball gear any time soon.Wink

I've gone from loving the guy to disliking him. Going down the Kyrios / Tomic path. Needs to take a few lessons from a few other aussies doing well in the NBA - esp Joe Ingles & Patty Mills.

I thought he was pretty poor when he ducked out a back door to avoid fans who had waited hours to see him, after he attended a clinic that cost $200 per person.   What harm in walking out the front door and smiling at the fans while they took pics ??   Not all fans can afford $200 to see him up close and personal, and its not like he is hurting for a dollar Clown

I think the guy was being a jerk to https://twitter.com/ChrisCuomo" rel="nofollow - - @ - chriscuomo , and I certainly understand Cuomo getting pissed, but there's just no way calling someone Fredo Corleone is like the n-word. There just isn't. That's plain nuts.

Not being Italian and not being from a famous high profile New York political family we may not see it in the same context he does. That guy certainly caught him on the wrong day though.

Ted Bullpit, Kingswood Country was the best show, he was awesome and everyone loved it, even the Italians and Greeks, these days though, too many PTs in the world who would cry foul

The reporter who wrote the story was not even at the event.
Parents and kids who attended were thrilled,Simmons devoted so much attention to them all day, couldn't have done more. So easy to knock a success just because he is.
He was wrong with the Crown tweet though
