Review: 8 Corrrect Results 0 Exact Scores So the season starts with a bang. I thought Liverpool and Manchester City would go lightly in their first match but I was wrong. Also ManUtd was a bit lucky in their win against Chelsea who hit the bar twice in the 1st half and couldn't find the net. Big surprise was Brighton who were nearly relegated last season after a poor second half of the season and really took Watford to the cleaners. I thought Burnley would be strong in their first game to win but they also strung out The Saints for a wallop. Only exact score that I thought looked like getting there but the newly promoted Blades scored late against Bournemouth and blanked me in the 1st round.

A couple of ripper games this weekend with the Man City/Spurs clash the best. Man City had the best of Spurs last season in League Play but we know what happened in the Champions League. A couple of games will test how bad things are with some of these clubs. Watford and West Ham will probably play better but they will be underdogs after last week. The Wolves - ManUtd on Monday night will be icing on the cake to complete the round. 1 Exact result 2 Correct results Season 1 Exact result 1 Correct margin 9 Correct results Review: What started out as a promising round ended with of a thump of the doldrums with some slow head shaking moments. Tuffest to swallow was in the last game Pogba missing a penalty which would of given an exact result. Followed by Man City having a goal taken away from them by VAR for a hand ball (which would of never happened because the action was so quick). Crystal Palace missing dozen of chances and Chelsea not able to hold a lead. Nonetheless Arsenal gave us the first exact result of the season and even then that was in question up to the final minute with Burnley playing very well.

As pointed out by Carioca the main match will be between the two top teams in young season. Arsenal IMO just doen't have a good enough record at Anfield of late so I'm playing against them. I'm also on Chelsea to hit back and also Leicester to win away to Sheffield. The Saints played well without getting anything last week and I think its about time they at least got something against B&H. My least questionable pick is the late Sunday game going against Burnley who just may get something now that Wolves won last night in the Europa League against Torino. Norwich winning with basically their second squad this weekend was a huge blow to Man. City. I think its a bit early but if Liverpool keep on going as they are they will become uncatchable. |

Absolute blinder of game this morning in the Manchester derby. One of the best games of the season and United played undoubtedly their best game of the season to win this one. ManCity slowing removing themselves from title contention.

Two thirds of the season is over and while Liverpool has sewn up the title they will not stop trying to remain undefeated. Battles for qualification for Europe and survival from relegation will heat up. |
