I thought we would place all general 2yo comments in this thread.
Okay so at this moment at least in my view, the fillies have the edge but that could change when a few of the better colts comeback.
Colts.
Dubios - Maclaren - Tassort - Spring Loaded - Hightail - I Am Immortal.
Fillies.
Catch Me - Exhilarates - Amercement - Jedastar - Brooklyn Hustle.
As I said I have the fillies about half a length in front!

Tassort still looks to be the testing material in the colts to me, so far. He'll need to have his skates on though with some top class wins lately in both NSW and Victoria.Catch Me still has to get through her Melbourne prep. She looks like the best of the fillies so far but she hasn't taken on Brooklyn Hustle yet.
Exciting times ahead for anyone who follows the babies.

Blimmy this race is still wider than the Sydney Heads. Could back half the field and miss the winner. Still hoping for a minor miracle for Time to Reign but there are so many hopefuls very hard to pick this year. Did like the trial of the Blue Diamond winner and she's Juliet like Time to Reign (but friendship comes into that one). Like the grey filly, like Yes Yes Yes. Even don't mind the Black Opal winner. In fact can't overlook any of the Godolphin horses. No doubt my mother will sit there and back her grey and another and get the winner. While I ditter away having trouble making up my mind.

For me Furious, unless something shows dazzling wet track ability tomorrow this is my top six (in order).
Microphone Dubious Lyre Tenley Time To Reign Yes Yes Yes
The next for me is the Black Opal winner Pin Sec and Loving Gaby, if she can get in the field.
The only one I would entertain from tomorrow is Cosmic Force, but that is only if he showed good wet track ability.
I think the NZ 2yo is good, but she is more Sires horse!

Quite a few smart ones to oppose Microphone but his figures read well.

Is Loving Gaby guaranteed a start?
Lyre and Loving Gaby for me. I think they are guns. if Brooklyn Hustle was in this, I would be on her. Lyre went past Brooklyn Hustle, from similar position in Blue Diamond. Loving Gaby just got blocked and was jumping all over them.
I think Lyre and Loving Gaby are very very special. The Melbourne lot are good this year. I have them well in front.
Lyre is way overs at $12.

Cosmic Force put his hand up there today, but it is a very very difficult backing up in the Slipper.
We saw Sunlight and Written By last year try that and they ran well, but the race was just run to tough for them to finish off.

I'm biased towards YYY as I have a share in him but the Microphone form reads pretty well into this. I think he's the main danger. Brooklyn Hustle beat us on debut at the Valley and had she not overraced I think she may of won the blue diamond. She was very impressive!
It's wide open. I think any of them could take it home really.

I keep looking at Loving Gaby in the diamond. Was a lap full of horse, got within a length, jogging. had no chance to extend, yet near the bunch, just jogging. real deal.
lyre has a beautiful action. Loving Gaby reminded me a bit of Flying Spur, front legs going up, wanting to get on with it. then flying spur went on to win the golden slipper.
brooklyn hustle, lyre, loving gaby, might be pretty special.
hoping loving gaby gets a run. ripper roving banker first 4, lyre, loving gaby/field.

Looks like you might be right, Carioca. Athiri leapfrogged LG with her second on the weekend. Gee, they’ll be setting Athiri a task running her again. But I suppose if you’ve got seven horses qualified and you can keep one of your dangers out of the race. They wouldn’t think that wasy, would they.

found it very appropriate that it was a heavy track for the Pago Pago. Appart from She will Reign his was the wettest Slipper in history. Still wide as the Sydney Heads. I seem to remember Skating liked it wet and shes third dam of Tenley and Lonhro is there also. Cosmic Force has the sireline of Encosta de Lago and they love the mud. Time to Reign has Snitzel and from the family of She will Reign - love the mud. Yes Yes Yes is also the sireline of Encosta but one from the female line is In Her Time and she hates it wet! Even the wet doesn't clear things up. As I said wide as the heads.

For me too Sister Dot, never thought I'd tip a son of Deep Field to win the Slipper but at this stage of the week with another 75mil. today I thought his win on the heavy with more to come was devastating , looks the goods , but I may change lol.

How can Pin Sec be $20 ? On breeding is an absolute mud lark and although it had a cushy run it absolutely donkey linked them on the slow in Canberra. Don’t think we’ve got to the bottom of it yet. Should be $8 maximum.
Pin Sec & Probabeel for mine are both the horses to beat in the sires especially probabeel. Castlevecchio the other one.

I 100 percent agree. Pin Sec looks like a sires winner although I can see her storming late in this slipper. I’d love her to win it but if she savages the line for a place going into sires I’ll take that also. She is a very late foal as well so has so much upside. I think she might be a very special horse in time.

Very keen on Pin Sec - Lohnro out of a Commands mare, 2 from 2 and spanked them last start on the wet. Her full brother Restrained won easily on Friday at Kembla on a heavy 8 (also undefeated). Happy to take the $20.

Loving Gaby on wet? Thoughts?
I like Pin Sec, Lyre, Loving Gaby, Cosmic Force.
Might even go the box 4 and a bunch of exotics that feature those. Pin Sec and Lyre are the value. Both are way overs. I dont view this as an open race this year. I think those 4 are guns.

Free of Debt is going to run a good race. 3rd in diamond. Sat on hot speed. Only horse not to buckle and looked the winner st one stage. Trainer said is better with a sit so I wouldn’t be surprised if it did that and maybe ran into a place

I wonder if Jason collett was already committed to Time to Reign before he won on Pin Sec in the opal??
I don’t want to sound like a broken record but bookmakers and punters have got this market wrong. Pin Sec has got that killer instinct that only very special horses have. It’s first win against an average lot was gutsy to say the least and then it put pay to Rome like it was nailed to the fence. It won’t be double figures on Saturday I absolutely guarantee it.

I agree Shovhog
Its one thing to have outsiders win, eg Phelan Ready, and many more, but to have the market set up like this, its all back to front.
I reckon Pin Sec should be $5. Lyre should be $5 Cosmic Force $5
There are numerous ones at top of market, that should be over $10.

I heard him say at home he enjoys galloping behind something then finishes off better. Still have to get that run but he will be in the finish either way I reckon. Under rated horse

Looks like a wet track , so anything happens .
The girls have continued to return equal figures in the lead ups , so the 2K less to carry in the grand final , I lean toward them again. Microphone is about the only boy on my radar. Will he handle wet ?. Time to Reign (Cat) & Yes Yes Yes, who was outshone by Tenley ( timewise ) can run against me. Another interesting Race , spoiled by weather.

Never spoiled. The greater majority will go on the wet also. Even Tenley above has enough to suggest no trouble in the wet. Just hope the day is fine so Mum can come. Won't be the same without her.

Pierro?
Vancouver was undefeated as a 2yo She Will Reign was more dominant most of the time but ran second once.
This is the most open crop I’ve seen in a long time.

May have doubted she would get in the field, I have a healthy respect for young Oisin Murphy and the fillies trainer but both first time lookers at Rosehill is a big risk imo.

Great work Djebel. Thank you
Geez Pin Sec at $21? Cosmic Force rightful fave now.
Lyre still value at $11.
I think 6 horses are way above others. Could be a very big division at winning post, first to last.
Now they will finish as a bunched pack. lol

Really warming to Microphone now. Have seen more than one Slipper where the jockeys, lemming-like, abandon the rail in the wet. Can see him a dream run. Also improving every run.

Yeah I can see horses sitting behind the leaders getting plenty of space as they fan out. As long as the track holds up ok and the outside doesn’t become the place to be that easy run then the space will Probabaly are the winner come from inside 6 barriers

MICROPHONE for me and having a saver on BELLEVUE HILL.
Prefer MICROPHONE to win as I think he's just a bit better than these.
Looking at the wet track runners.. yeah the majority of them will be fine, got some Med D'Oro's, Snitzels, E&E, etc. They are all more than capable on a wet track.
The only other one at value that interests me is FREE OF DEBT. I saw his barrier trial last week and it was a wet track and he just glided through it. Has to be respected IMO and I think Dunn even rode him in the trial too. Well worth a crack at 50-1 imo.
Hope it's not too wet and my $$$ is on MICROPHONE. Will be great for James Cummings too - he's been given the keys to the empire and looks like he knows how to get these 2 year olds up and about. Good luck to him.

Provided the rain stops and the track is soft Loving Gaby to swamp everything on the outside and to win easy. I hope so because I have unloaded at 15s. She should have won the BD and no doubt has improved.

My guesstimate is that the fillies are as per usual superior. to the colts. What do the smarties say?
