"Definitely. My word, it's only fair that they should do that," one man said between bites of a banana.

"I do it all."

And while he cooked and cleaned his wife had a rest.

A number of women also agreed — depending on how many other chores he had on his list, and, well, other considerations.

Reporter: How's it organised at your house?

Woman: Well, I have four girls and there's a lot of work to do.

Reporter: I guess that means that Dad can sit down most of the time?

Woman: No he's out most of the time to keep out of my way.

Another woman dropped her husband in it when the reporter approached her with the question.

"Yes, certainly [husbands should do housework], all the time," she said.

"But mine doesn't."

Only one man said "good lord, no" to the idea of men doing housework.

   Men should do their bit.

Drink your Tinnies on the verandah so you don't get in Mum's way , when she's cleaning the lounge room.

AND don't complain about the washing up cluttering up the sink overnight.
Your not supposed to pizzing in the kitchen when short taken overnight, anyway.

Mostly single income families in 1961, where dad earned enough in his one life long job to feed clothe and educate the 4 kids, get a new car every 3 years, go on annual holidays and save money.

Now mum is probably doing 1.5 of the families 3 jobs to get roughly the same thing.

Share the load.

By gone wrong do you mean husbands helping with the housework ?  Good grief , men even get paid parental leave now !  Cause they should help a bit !  I dont expect mine to do a whole lot as he still works full time, but I am home full time and no kids, so its up to me to do a bit, but he did do a lot to help me before I had my hip done, and still does whatever he can , beside doing the outside lawn/yard etc.

pt, there has been a long period of time from the sixties to now.

how can you blame the immediate.

for one, wages were brilliant during the mining boom alone.

job casualization? `you know what im going to say.

that started happening about 40 years ago

corporate greed? lets say individuals greed, as well.

you can do better pt.

if you were in business you should be able to track the decline to now.

UNIONS Isaac...       casual is the only way to employ.
try and unload a useless full timer.

We are being overtaken by the ever decreasing effort & pride, workers should have inherited.

Drugs are huge in Australia and next to nothing to is being done to stop this cancerous destruction of our quality of life.
In fact it is being encouraged by idiots who have zero idea of what needs to be done to address the problem.

Drug use could be halved in 12 months, if the necessary steps were taken.
