Posted this in other thread but deserves its own:

BEST SPRINT RACE I have seen in a very long time even better than Everest!
Redzel
RKW
Brave Smash
Jungle Cat
US Navy Flag
Kementari
Santa Ana Lane
Spirit of Valor
In her Time

Brilliant!

What makes it better than the Everest?

It's missing Trapeze Artist who is better than everyone else there bar Redzel maybe, Viddora, Shoals are also better than all the 'new' names on the list besides RKW and maybe Pierata.

Redzel will win easily unless RKW is back to his straight track specialist best.

I rate RKW ahead of Trapese Artist..
then add in Jungle Cat, Kementari and an in form Spirit of Valor and I rate it overall better

Field or race? You could make a case for either in terms of field strength but it would be hard to inagine a worse RACE than the Everest- walkathon on a swamp where most horses didn’t handle it. This should be significantly better.

A bit depends on Invincible Star here. If Redzel walks them up like he did in the Everest he’ll be hard to beat, but any pressure and he’s vulnerable imo. One of O’Briens might test him too. BS bauble figure odds again...

Think Redzel will win pretty easily. Can just set his own tempo and finish with the consistent end he has.

Think Santa, Redkirk or Spirit Of Valor will win it.  Redzel has been gifted more races than any horse i've seen, reckon one or two of aiden's will serve it up and bring him undone here.

Is there a reason why Spright is $31.

She has run well down the straight. The track usually plays to swoopers on this day down the straight and her last run was a cracker on a track where it was hard to make up ground.

Her last two group 1 runs are better than a $31 chance here!

If Redzel wins this he will have probably the most impressive sprinting cv ever except for BC, but he's always been kind of underwhelming for me. Maybe it's his margins, maybe it's his opposition, maybe it's just the vibe, but he never excites me.Confused

Australian sprint championships, lol. Is that what the ATC are calling it these days?

It's a straight track race. Redzel doesn't have to lead, Mcevoy will just let him be comfortable.

Call it whatever you want, it's the top sprint race in Australia.

Hard to take this year's edition seriously when most didn't handle the bog.

THE slots are so expensive no one wants to use their horse as the sacrificial lamb to put pressure on Redzel

This race will be a different story.. RKW for me, got on early, has some support now

Unless the track manager destroys the travelator on the grandstand rail, I reckon Spirit of Valour will be winning.

For the sake of the race, he ought to be taking to it with the old vertidrain as we speak.

US Navy Flag was rated panels ahead of Valor, it’s interesting his form over here

Really think US Navy Flag will run a massive race in this.

Ignore the Everest with the wet track, then was working the house down, which warranted the heavy support, before the Manikato. Missed start, then scrubbed along a bit to get a position, before being under a stranglehold in the straight in the Manikato.

Got the right draw, the right track etc.. If ever he is going to perform it is in this race.

I'm getting an urge to back Kementari again so I've asked Matron to take my phone and lock me in my room  until 5pm tomorrow.Ouch

This and the TJ are Australia's two premier sprint races.

His run was outstanding on the goat track.

The everest is clearly the premier sprint race.

Djebel the Everest is WFA also.  It doesn't have the history of the other two but is hotly contested both to get into and to win.  Not Redzel's fault he got it wet or got left alone.  Saturday will be different but he is a very good sprinter and could still win.

HYPE.

Hype is the only reason the Everest is in the conversation.

Very keen to keep backing SANTA ANA LANE, especially at the odds available.

Going to have a saver on IN HER TIME as well as take the fav to beat both of these in an exacta just in case the real REDZEL turns up.

But it was goat track form and the Manikato was a much weaker race than this. Kementari may win, the mongrel, but there is no logical reason why he would.

Don't like him in this but at this point I'd be pointing the finger at the training and all over the shop prep Tlaz, not the horse. Barriers and tracks haven't helped him though. Still has to show he enjoys Flem straight sprinting and is being asked to do it at WFA against the best available after a very solid program already. Ran a shocker in the Coolmore last year after being asked to back up from the Guineas. Weird.

NOPE.

Everyone who had a top sprinter aimed their horse at the Everest.

Go take a survey of the top sprinters connections and ask them which race they want to win.

The Everest is a novelty. A rich novelty, but a novelty nonetheless.

If all sprinting connections aim at the race it's a bit obtuse to write it off as a novelty.

i don't think you know what obtuse means.
