She got the sympathy vote.

They present that show as survival of the strongest but really it's survival of the weakest.

No, she is one tough b***h.  Had 1 or 2 small dealings with her when she showed horses.

Never watched a minute of the show, makes no sense to me at all, and it must clash with The Bachelor, does it?

Good for you Shane - Legend!!!Thumbs Up

In reference to every post in the Trump thread ... "There may have been a tiny bit of license taken there" ... Ok, Thanks for the "heads up" PT!

Probably off topic but it always intrigued me that Shane retired at age 16 in 1973, just before the East German swimming onslaught of the 70's and 80's really kicked into gear at the 73 World Championships.

Subsequently you had great swimmers like Shirley Babashoff, who won 13 silver medals at World Championships and Olympics, mainly behind doped up East Germans, miss out on numerous Golds that were rightfully theirs.

If Shane had kept on swimming, I wonder how she would have fared against the GDR drug regime? In hindsight maybe her timing was perfect.

Didn't have the build for an older swimmer than when she retired .. unlike Dawn who one day just jumped into the pool (according to a friend that swam a bit) when she was out doing some function with the then Australian swimming team and swam 1 second below Olympic qualifying time off the cuff ... no training and must've been in her 40's at the time.

Saw one episode of survivor during dinner at relos'.... didn't know it was Shane Gould till today ...competitive lady..... of course  Wink

It wasn’t a sympathy vote but the way it’s structured often means the best don’t win
