Racing.com will broadcast all five-days of the Royal meeting, commencing Tuesday June 19 from 10.30pm AEST, then continuing to the final day on Saturday June 23, on free-to-air channels 78 (metropolitan) and 68 (regional).

It will make a perfect addition to the World Cup finals and the third ODI from Trent Bridge on Tuesday. I might never get off the couch.

And to make life even better my brothers horse just won on debut in Moe and I was on at $18 so I am all cashed up.   I need all the help I can get in the UK so post your thoughts and tips please.

Chelsea looks like another Wesley Ward Ascot special. Lady Aurelia type in the Queen Mary. If she switches that form to turf they wont see which way she went. If not she'll be gone at the 400 like some other failures in the past.

Rhododendron all up Calyx must surely be the omen bet.

Speaking of omens the Japanese horse Yoshida is my first dart at Ascot.  Is he named after the Japanese footballer of the same name who is playing against Colombia as we speak ?

Given that I have been watching the football while doing the form is that why I ended up betting him Confused ?

I liked the goose stepping filly.   They are pretty regimented at Ballydoyle but that is ridiculous.

OK, I'll say it :  There is an elephant in the room and it and sounds like,

Well done E&E.

Punting, watching football and horse racing is proving a challenge - but a nice problem to have.

Calyx was top pick but at least it puts us on the board.

Was it my imagination or was Sergi in second place 50m from the line ?

In fact, the table of selections above (top picks only) contains the trifecta for both the second and third races (Calyx, Advertise & Sergei from 4 first placed selections and Blue Point Battaash and Mab's Cross from 4 first place selections)  They paid $146 and $332.

Well done - you had 2/3's of it already.

The Ascot Stakes was a blow out.   Chelkar did OK given that he didn't settle.  It will be interesting to see where OTI take him.

Thanks but I can’t take any credit it was really pure guesswork. Didn’t even look at any form just saw that a few had tipped it. And I believe Djebel was the first to label it top shelf so that confirmed it for me.

Kingman had his first winner tonight with the very impressive Calyx scoring at Newmarket. Mum ran second to Moonlight Cloud in a multiple black type winning short career.
Could be one to watch out for at Ascot. John Gosden trains it.
That was the first post regarding Calyx on the forum. From European Racing thread.

I didn’t say the first post, I said the first to label the horse top shelf. As far as I know he was in a thread titled “The Next Great European Miler - Calyx”.

Wow! You really are desperate for some recognition aren’t you? You do realise this is an Internet forum inhabited by a bunch of total strangers don’t you? If receiving kudos from a name on a computer screen helps inject some positive feelings into your life then well done, give yourself a pat on the back on my behalf for spotting this one. You have a good eye.

Yesterday djebel, brudderA and MattBisogno managed to return a flat stakes profit.  Tonight there are some big fields and wide open markets like the Royal Hunt Cup which is currently 10/1 the field.  On the other hand Cracksman appears to have provoked a consensus.  One anomaly appears to be Saltonstall which seems well fancied by our tipsters but is currently 12/1.  The flowery theme that saw Calyx salute yesterdqy could continue tonight with the well fancied Hydrangea in the Duke of Cambridge and Kew Gardens in the Queen's Vase.  The early birds are posted below.  I will update the table before the first.  Everyone is welcome to join in.

Optus announces all World Cup matches will be simulcast on SBS from tonight until the end of the group stage on June 29

Oops.  Wrong thread.  Confused

I am not surprised at my blue though.  Trying to juggle the races, the World Cup football, and those imposters playing England at cricket is becoming quite a chore.

Sure you were.
It’s ok little guy, you should just own your mentality. The praise of strangers is important to you. All good. We’re used to it by now anyway.

Truth was you never mentioned the horse as being top shelf. Thanks for letting us know it was impressive in its first start, many are. You mentioned nothing of it being top class though. Djebel was the first to post that.

I was just getting warm.  Nailed the second with Kew Gardens.  Ryan Moore presumably had his choice of the O'brien runners and I thought he wasn't ridden quiet enough in the Derby.

Portugal 1 Morocco 0   Now for Uruguarians to roll over the top of Saudi.

And that's why you take the profit before they run. The winner looked the goods along way out while the favourite was off the bridle, stoked up and never travelled. Coltish in the parade pre race too. James Doyle on the winner was giggling after a furlong with the favourite giving him a lead and under pressure to hold his spot.

Cheers Tonto. My late nights, waking up after a nanna nap, watching the races in England and France are paying off. I find it so much more diverse and interesting than the local events these days.

Ostilio was one I liked a lot after Without Parole won the Gr1 race earlier in the meeting. Looked to be at least 10lbs well in on the handicap and improving.
Nice ride from De Sousa too angling him over to the fast line.

5 to lead 4 + 11 to  front the chasing pack for mine. Low draw not so bad for RW given the small field. Higher draws have dominated the bigger fields this week so far.

Certainly going to be an interesting tactical battle.

They probably do try and set a tempo but I doubt it will worry the good ones.

I expect the big 3 to come away and fight it out no matter what tactics are used.
