Terrence Crawford
Will he live up to the hype that he’s as good As Sugar Ray Leonard or will he be exposed by an Aussie just like Zab Judah was?

Sugar Ray, the greatest in my mind

Besides his promoter, who compares Crawford to Sugar Ray?

He had more than 20 bouts before anyone heard of him .
Horn is the best he has met and has the size to put up a better show than the betting suggests.
They have stuffed around for over a month.
i hope the Local lad from Qld, can do it again.

Before anyone takes silly prices ....    REMEMBER Crawford hasn't been meeting top class opposition.
His last fight he won the World super Lightweight from a very ordinary fighter ( Julius Indongo )who allowed Crawford to counter punch for 3 rounds and was KO'd in the 3rd round in a pathetic display.

Indingo has fought once since and was KO'd in 2 rounds by Regis Prograis , who is scheduled to fight for the vacant Super Lightweight title in July . . Another pathetic display..
HORN is super value at over $6 on Betfair.

BTW .    Horn or Crawford are NO Sugar Ray's.

Exactly right Macca , both not in the same league as Suger Ray, and as for Zan Judah who could ever forget the right hand Kostya landed on his beak that day and left him spinning around the ring like a drunk imitating a whirling dervish, took a week to stop laughing, Judah bit of a show pony.

The form guide also shows that Crawfords previous fight to Indongo against Felix Diaz, didn't stand up well either as Diaz lost his next bout in April 2018 .
Crawford is Hyped unjustifiably and is known for fighting 2nd raters throughout his career.
He may well win,   but he is terrible unders in betting.

I feel for him, technically you can only be KO'ed if you have a brain to concuss ...

Good one PT.

BTW.   Crawfords last 5 opponents =   Indongo .. KO's in 2 at his next fight.        > Diaz Beaten next bout .       > Victor Postal , done nil since , is fighting in Glasgow.        > Henry lundig , hasn't fought since Crawford but lost his 2 bouts prior to meeting Crawford ..      > Dierry Jean , Fought a draw after his Crawford bout.

Anyone heard of any of them ....

He is living in Moscow, while his family live in Sydney. Friends of Vlad get looked after.

His son Tim, a light middleweight has had 9 pro fights for 9 wins and recently challenged Anthony Mundine

I'm talking value in betting ...    Horn has beaten better fighters than Crawford has met and the higher weight scale may find out how good Crawford copes with some real opposition.
By the way . Horn is undefeated and unlike Kosta Tszyu , hasn't been Knocked out or beaten either.

NO Manny Paccio's in Crawfords record.

Not interested in odds. I can’t imagine what sort I’d delirium I’d have to be suffering to actually bet on boxing.

Manny was a decade past his best when he met Horne. I’ll be barracking for the Aussie boy, but this looks a mismatch to me.

Manny was past his best when he won back the World Title in the fight , not long before meeting Horn.

Actually I don’t bet that much these days. Carnival times, maybe one or two bets a week. As dodgy as horse racing can be, it’s a paragon of integrity compared to the boxing caper.

Keep swinging oneone, you’ll land one eventually

Yes Macca - Hd / Hd sports betting currently trades at less than 10% yield ( much less if you throw in promotional kick backs). Judge gets better value betting into race markets that typically give 14 to 15% yield. Delirium - you bet !

C'mon Judge , These "bounce of the balls" even themselves out over time.

Get yourself interested in the pricing side of any gamble .

“Bounce of the balls”

Actually you could argue Horn is unders. If this thing goes to a decision, he’s got no chance... probably.

Nah, I love watching good fighters but in a game that devoid of integrity they can go around without my money.

6.4 is about right Max given the venue. I guess you'd be looking to trade out early before it gets anywhere near the judges for a result.

49.95 ...    've had an e mail from Foxtel ....   there is another Ozzie fighting for a world Title straight after, ( maybe another venue )   so maybe prices differ....

Re the trade out :   Horne is in a point already .... If I traded out now it would give about a 12% profit no matter who wins. Dream TRADING.
or 0 if Crawford wins, and up to 100% on original outlay on Horne if he wins , (to nothing.)

IGNORE those percentages ...   I didn't use a calculator.

ATM Horn came in about a point , now gone out a little 3/10 of a point.
So the "green out"     is about 9% no matter who wins.

On what form would you make that statement Tlaz.

I've put up Crawford's last five opponents and they were very ordinary fighters.   He is in a heavier division of much better performed fighters .

Horn won't be an easy beat , and is $6

Yes a very good stoppage maxie, Horn had lost all 8 rounds to a boxer superior in every department, even strength where Jeff was expected to be superior. It was just getting down to the punishment rounds and he wasn't going to win.

Best to take his US $1.25m and regroup for another day.

Many rounds close early , But obvious Crawford was the master as it progressed .
That's BS about the final punches not landing ,   I counted 10 ( not so damaging )that did and that is when fighters get hurt.        I had Horn going for plenty and won $4 with Crawford ( Trading ) .
Horne looked a beaten man after , Crawford looked like he had just had a bath.
The Referee deserves all the praise for stopping it.

Horne says himself his Ring career will be short. Set his Family up Financially and OUT.
Terrific efforts from him to this point and now he can get good purses against Mundine & Co.
Having to make the welterweight sees him lacking endurance now.

With Crawford there to stay and looking to unify by claiming the other two titles, it may not be easy for Horn to get accommodated at a level where he can get a reasonable purse at 147. Arum wont give him a rematch with Crawford, so he has to choose whether to take the money and join the circus or go to 154 and drop down the pay scale to work his way up again. At 30, while not that old he will find it tougher against the light middles and the money/circus option may be best

Surely they realise he is no Ali.      He has always been prone to facial cuts and was never going to get the massive purses.     He has quite a few
to consider in the Jnr Middleweights amd an easy million or 2 if he plays along with Mundine.
No surprise if he finds a spot in the Qld Origin team after their performance last Wednesday.

Posting for a friend, a keen student of the pugilistic arts:

World reacts to Jeff Horn’s loss to Terence Crawford

AUSSIE Jeff Horn has been warned by a boxing promoter to “pack it in” or risk getting “really hurt” if he keeps on fighting.

AUSSIE welterweight star Jeff Horn lost his championship belt in devastating fashion after US boxer Terence Crawford claimed victory in a one-sided clash in Las Vegas.

The Aussie went to the States as the resounding underdog against the undefeated Crawford, whose lightning-quick hands and speedy footwork regularly sees him compared to fighting icon Floyd Mayweather.

A weigh-in controversy the day before, which saw Horn rush to drop 260 grams after initially coming in heavy, didn’t appear to weigh on the laid-back Aussie’s mind.

Horn was weighing around the 70kg mark by the time he touched gloves with Crawford, but his superior size was no match for the American’s incredible defence and striking speed.

The hardy 30-year-old sc  more....

I read the lead up form wrong but Horn wasn't slaughtered and damaged
as sometimes happens .       . The winner too classy and will rule the welterweight division for a long time.
Horn will be stronger in the higher division and can continue to get some nice returns against lessor opposition.
Crawford is hailed as the best lb for lb in the world , we now see why.

It was embarrassing watching that fight Macca. I was one of about 200 half tanked Horn supporters looking for an opportunity to cheer him on - just didn't happen. The bookies got it wrong - his real price was 200/1. He should retire now imo - easy to say you are going to retire young when you are unbeaten & on top of the world - we will wee how it now pans out. Surely not even us quality boxer starved Aussies would cop a Mundine/Horn fight

Strange to say , Mundine draws like a poultice & an easy million each is assured.
I'm thinking Horn is very weakened making the weights for the welter division.     He stopped as if shot at about round 6....
His make up has him prone to facial cuts & his boxing skills limited .
A brawling type and shouldn't stay in it long or he will resemble my X.
No embarrassment ,   I think his opponent is one who will reach greater heights.
As I've said before ,      I've been wrong 3 times in life , I misjudged Crawford and married the other 2.

Cheers above PT. Not even sure he will be getting much in the way of endorsements any more. Now a big time loser - not a winner. If he has earnt around 5mill PT I would think after costs he wouldn't have all that much left. How many belong to Team Horn ? What did PT Barnum say- never underestimate the stupidity of an Aussie fight fan. Get old man Mundine out there to wind them up again- plenty of gold left in that depleted bore.

Your not wrong Tlaz and it is cruel that Horn loses one fight in his career to the best rated fighter in the world and we Ozzies are weak enough to be tongue lashing him ..      He has not avoided anyone and I feel weight is his enemy.
Agree he is no true world champion ,   a gutsy brawler who gives his best and credit to him for having beaten more than one top world rated fighter .
He is better than Mundine or Green but I also agree he should not fight on much longer.
Financial security for his family has been achieved , Good luck to him and I admire his humble , non aggressive manner in private life .
He is a great advertisement for Australia.
& YES , Crawford is a class above him.    The referee was spot on.
           A credit to his profession.

Horn is a victim of the Top Rank contract. If not for that there is no way he would have fought Crawford at this stage.. No, he would have been managed in the orthodox boxing way- diligently avoiding the best boxers in your division and fighting as many tomato cans as you can find.

On the other hand, he wouldn't have got the Pacman fight.

Similar to the great Joe Louis, succession of fighters were called " the bum of the month club".

When he accepted this fight, even though he got a decision over an aging/aged Manny, this reminded me of Shannon Taylor in the 80's maxie. Racked up 27 straight and instead of milking the dollar from his obvious ability, he took an ill advised fight against Sugar Shane Mosely, who mauled him. Shannon couldn't get up off his chair, to face the 7th round, he was so badly beaten. Was never the same afterwards turning to grog and coke before God to make a comeback. A bad defeat can damage you in lots of unforeseen ways.

Horne wasn't badly hurt at any stage of that fight ( compared to his other bouts ).      the referee was his best friend .

I said to my son early that Horn looked physically exhausted ( about round 6 )

I think we all accept the stoppage was warranted as it was evident from there on he was going to get battered.
Difficulty making the weight is always a BAD sign.

Yep, was counting his money and said that will do me.

Having said that to be fair to Crawford he is a class above Horn.

You are 100%, spot on . NOB.    I now accept Crawford is a class act .

I do repeat that I believe Horn is badly weakened making the weight and was much the same with Manny Paccio ....     You can't dehydrate and recover in quick time.
Horn appears drawn , sunken eyes , pale ....     Typical of dehydration.
He needs a month in the sun and 3 months on XXXX ....       Our member who follows that regime fights like a tiger. ( No Names ,No Court cases )

I reckon he will fight on, and as you suggest macca, in the next weight division will extend his longevity. A couple of million LESS expenses, isn't enough to retire on if the endorsements stop ... at least with a referee and the rules, it's safer than an Australian classroom!Ouch

In reference to every post in the Trump thread ... "There may have been a tiny bit of license taken there" ... Ok, Thanks for the "heads up" PT!

Many a true word spoken in jest.

Watch a different man front up as a middleweight, appearance wise.
He presented as unhealthy, Poor muscle tone . Looks aneamia pale, sunken eyes.

Crawford looked awesome with his muscular frame. Jumping out of his skin.

Horn has gone backwards in recent bouts.   He was fatigued & couldn't lift his arms after round 6.
