Lovely looking 2yo part owned by yours truly thanks to Sportsbet
Makes her debut over 1000m at Wagga today.
Trial was very good and the email from the trainer yesterday was full of praise for her work ethic.

Online bookmaker sportsbet.com.au had an idea: buy a racehorse and let more than 10,000 of its customers come along for the ride for free and share in its success!

So, Sportsbet’s punters came up with some name suggestions and voted for the winner. Just one problem…. the racing powers that be rejected the winning name “Halal Snack Pack”. Can you believe it?!

“Shoey” and “Air Horse One” were also given the boot, so we finally settled on “Four Beers Please”.

Trained by Barbara Joseph and Paul Jones, the Star Witness filly has been nominated for her racing debut this Friday in a 2-year-old Maiden at Wagga Wagga, presumably on her way to the Golden Slipper and The Everest.

“We can’t remember a horse with over 10,000 connections so we’re expecting a big crowd at Wagga on Friday. If each owner orders Four Beers Please, they’d better put a few extra kegs on,” said sportsbet.com.au’s Christian Jantzen.

Four Beers Please, the horse purchased by Sportsbet to race for 15,000 of their customers, is set to be retired after just twelve race starts.

'Beersy' was a $20,000 purchase at the 2016 Australian Weanling sales and was originally known as Halal Snack Pack until officials requested a name change.

Still a maiden after 11 starts, Four Beers Please will be given one final chance to break through later this month.

Her not-so-long suffering owners will get the chance to say farewell to 'Beersy' at Yarra Valley on November 30, before the mare embarks on an eventing career in Canberra.

A horse who couldn't run out of sight in a blizzard, Four Beers Please was beaten a combined margin of 25L at her first two starts before recording a minor placing at Dubbo on a bog track.

Her next four runs were flatter than a warm can of Light Ice, before being transferred from the Jones camp in Canberra to Mitch Freedman's Ballarat barn.

Four Beers Please managed a four-length third for Freedman at St Arnaud in October before finishing a close-up fourth at Benalla at her most recent outing.

Perhaps feeling a little sheepish about Four Beers Please's inglorious racing career, Sportsbet will be treating a large group of the mare's owners to free food and froffies at Yarra Valley

Why on earth would they be thinking of retiring her?

She’s only 4yo, is starting to come good under Mitch Freedman’s care & astutely placed she’s got a maiden win in her soon.
