This So You Think 3yo trained at Murwillumbah might be one to follow. Only narrowly won a Gold Coast maiden at first start. However was checked early, then hung in badly in the straight. Whenever the jockey was able to ride the horse he surged forward. Will be better over further (1600m+).

In the TAB Highway on Saturday. I managed to get $41 with Sportsbet. I rate him a $2.40 chance.

Dirty rotten mongrels at Sportsbet cancelled my bet at $41. Didn't even bother to tell me. Now $8.00.

If they are going to be idiotic enough to run him over 1200m they do not deserve this horse.

Don't normally bet in these TAB Highway races but a few promising types in this one.

I think the winner will come from Care To Think, Clipper and And There Is More.

Yes.

How can they cancel it after it was accepted? Surely that is not legal! I would be straight on the phone giving them a blast and threatening to take it further.

Scumbags! IMO if they accept a bet it should stand.

I agree. If they accept that bet, then that bet should stand. It is not your fault that they put up the wrong price. If they cared about their customer then they would reward you for finding value - by letting the bet stand. They clearly do not care about the customer. They know they don't have to. It opens up the prospect of them not paying out bets due to the simple - and inconvenient fact - that one of their punters stands to collect, or even won on the bet. Their vague clause could have them legally not paying out on bets and leaving punters high and dry.

Pended for a minute before being accepted which means traders directly approved it. Should stand.

Should at least lodge with the Ombudsman so there is a record of it.  Also adds complexity to the business as they will need to respond to them etc.

If it becomes endemic - they will have the evidence to provide to any other body.

Odds makers are purely opinion. There is no fact behind them.

How do they determine factually that a mistake was made ?

This horse in my not so humble opinion needs a lot further than 1200m going from maiden grade to a class 2 event.

I would have been a lot happier if the race was 1400m. In the long term I can see this horse competing at 2000m+.

Their terms and conditions are weighted in the sportsbooks favor of course.

If the odds correspond to the wrong numbers or an error putting in the odds, such as adding an extra zero, it's industry standard to cancel the bet.

Were they the only ones with odds up when you bet, or were the TAB already up at $8?

I think they may have messed up 11 and 12.

They put 11 up at $12 and 12 up at $41 when it was supposed to be the reverse.

I am cheering on Care To Think simply because he is by the immortal So You Think.

He is now way unders in my book. He was unders in my opinion when he was 7/1.

Good luck Bonfield.

Not a great ride, green and looking for longer. Still think he could be a horse to follow.

Needs to go to the paddock to put on 40kg and come back stronger and tougher next prep.

Posted By: James
Date Posted: 21 Jan 2017 at 1:31pm
Needs to learn to run up on the pace so he's not looking for luck in running or needing the speed on.

Posted By: djebel
Date Posted: 21 Jan 2017 at 1:35pm
No, He simply needs a mile plus.

Than he will sit closer to the lead.

He is never going to be anywhere near the lead at anything less than 1400m unless they walk up front.

I hope they give him one more run this time at 1600m in similar grade to today.

$1.90 out to $2.45 at the moment.

If it drifts out a little further to say 16/1 I might have a little on eachway.  Stern Smile

Should have won, got caught behind a horse going backwards on the rail.

Had enough pace for this race though, 1200m was fine.

It was a very good run today but I still say finding a race like over 1200m around Ipswich is idiotic.

Will be interesting to find out why he was not set for the Queensland Derby ?

Last time this horse came down for the TAB Highway race I was very keen and bet up. Was heavily backed by stable too I think and ended up favourite. Was very disappointing, then spelled. Looks hard to beat this time. Perhaps hardest part will be getting a price.

Maybe Suncraze supporters will line up again if they have any money left.

Also nommed Doomben.

Of the get back horses I'd prefer Suncraze. Both will probably be unders.

On The Fiddle is not out of that race and Salesman will enjoy the extra distance. Nic's Vendetta again the one to beat

Didn't notice On The Fiddle. He's in my black book. Looks like a very competitive Highway.

Posted By: Bonfield
Date Posted: 19 Jul 2017 at 9:43pm
Done the form and on ratings Care To Think will be very hard to beat. I will be backing On The Fiddle too though. He only narrowly won a class 1 at Goulburn last start, but it was slowly run and the 2nd horse kicked in the straight. Was a strong effort to run him down and was soft win in the end. Well bred being a half to G1 placed Happy Clapper and G2 placed Gig. It's a bonus that CTT is trained by Matty Dunn, and OTF by Matty Dale, the two Highway masters.

So where will he go ?

Even an off colour Randwick is superior to a 100% healthy Doomben.

Doubt he'll be winning at Randwick myself. 3 of his last 4 runs have been at unsuitable tracks and last time was 1200m - again. MDunn generally places his horses very well but from a distance it appears CTT could have been more suitably placed. Smart trainer so there must be reasons.

Scratched from Randwick.

I stand by my original comments regarding the trainer.

Their horse so they can do what they want, But fair dinkum they do themselves no favours.

Although I had backed Care To Think at $3.50 I'm quite happy he's scratched. I can now back On The Fiddle to beat Suncraze.

So You Think is one of the worst names for a champion racehorse I’ve seen (though honourable mentions go to Might and Power, Makybe Diva and Black Caviar). Now we seem destined to be infested with similarly dreadfully named progeny.

Say what you like about harness racing, but they’re much better at naming horses.

Really promising horse, hope he goes on with it and can win a big race some day.

Being talked up as a Stradbroke Hcp horse in the winter, so is he going for a break now? Or are there any suitable black type races coming up soon?

Apollo Stakes next month perhaps ?

The interview after the race trainer said he would be freshened but aimed at either Melbourne or Sydney.
