Bill Cosby charged with indecent assaultProsecutors in the US have charged comedian Bill Cosby with aggravated indecent assault over an alleged incident in 2004. It is the first time Mr Cosby, 78, has been charged with any offence after months of accusations. Andrea Constand says she was drugged then assaulted at the Philadelphia home of the former US television star. Dozens of women have accused him of sexual assault, dating back to the 1970s, but he has denied wrongdoing. Earlier this month he opened a lawsuit against seven of the women, accusing them of defamation. Mr Cosby made no comment as he arrived at court to be formally charged. I don't know what to make of these women. They may be telling the truth but their behaviour is unbelievable. He calls her at 8.45pm to come to his house to discuss future career plans. 8.45pm- career plans- sure. I'm sure that's exactly what she thought was on his mind and nothing else, being raised in a convent and all.They then commence a candle lit dinner, nobody else in the house, whereupon he offers her 3 mysterious blue "herbal" pills and she swallows them, washed down witha nice cognac.

But it says something about these women, that they put the fear of not being believed, and the effect it might have on their careers, ahead of at least warning others. Any woman that went to Cosby's place then, should have been aware of the allegations. |

| They put themselves into a vulnerable situation because they saw a career advantage to it, I suspect. They weren't anticipating being drugged, but I'd reckon most anticipated amorous advances. Which some might well have acceded to. That choice wasn't afforded to them. He wanted a better strike rate than that might afford. |

It is on this basis and the fact 50 more women have come forward with identical stories has led to prosecutors deeming there is a criminal case to be answered. This case was the only one within the statute of limitations and by only a few days, so is the only one being tested. He won't answer to any others but could get about 5 years(of 10 if found guilty) for this one |

Have any women came forward to complain about unwanted advances, undrugged ? That of course is not a crime, but it looks as if his "seduction" technique wasn't thought effective enough without chemical assistance. Many have used such assistance, even if it was just cheap sparkling wine ! Poor old Bill couldn't close the sale, that way, apparently. |

Speculation.... Men & women drug on these days PT., more than ever but it has always been on the menu . That's why so many drugs were banned along the way . Most notably Heroine in 1954 worldwide. Bonking and drugs/grog are a good mix ( called leg opener in my day .) The other 47 had their chance to come forward 60 years ago in some cases. ( Random rape should carry the death penalty ) in my view . Old ladies who want to light up the memories with accusations that are as old as them ... Should be up for withholding evidence. Being a female myself , I do often wonder why these women wait so long to pop up and accuse some bloke , from 30 or 40 years ago. More to the point, how on earth do they hope to prove their accusations after leaving it go for so many years ?? One woman has said she went home with him , to be more comfortable, and had drinks. Why did she go home with him ?? To be more comfortable ,,,,for what ????  What did she think she was going home with him for ? I mean. Cosby has been found guilty on all 3 charges in his retrial overningt. He is facing up to 10 years on each count as well as fines for each count and court costs. He was released on bail awaiting sentencing and an appeal. ------------- |

Still beats me why nobody reported him to the police. It might not have resulted in a conviction or even gone to trial, but it would have been widely reported and it would have warned others. He started doing it in 1965 but no woman reported it to the police until 2000. |

There were many others that qualified but this one and a number of others were inside the statute of limitations. All of his victims were alone and drugged so their accounts were he said/she said but it was very fuzzy. And who would believe them over the great Bill Cosby. This is why the judge called him a very dangerous predator. He was very calculating. It wasn't till the use of Quaaludes emerged that cleared up a lot of people's explanations of what had happened to them. ------------- |
