Henry was without a doubt the most amazing man I have ever met.   My distant cousin, David,  was lad to Slip Anchor and Commander In Chief, and because of that ,  over the years I got to visit Warren Place on and off.  Last time was when Frankel was in residence.  And Henry,s last good filly ?  Midday ? was it.
He had an eye for a pretty girl, and a sense of humour second to none.
He regaled us with the story about him getting invites to ride in the Queen,s carriage processions at Royal Ascot.  He said he really didnt give a dam about riding along in top hat looking like a toady,  but he was mightly please for the current invite, as he had had 3 wives, and now each one had a ride in the procession, so they were happy, and that made his life a lot easier.
He also had a wonderful rose garden at Warren Place, which he was more keen on us seeing, than the horses.
Thanks for that vid, djebel.  Memories.
